Would take Rachele in a heartbeat. Would be an upgrade on George.

totally different players. One bad year and we’re throwing out a three time premiership player out for an untested, undrafted 180 cm marking forward

On what basis could you come to that conclusion? Andrew is rated a top five to ten pick and biggie wasn’t rated anywhere near that.

A member of St Kilda’s Next Generation Academy, Nyuon is an athlete who has testing results to be believed. A hard worker with some great goal celebrations to boot, Nyuon recorded a 92cm running and 73cm standing vertical leap, as well as a 2.86-second 20m sprint and 8.24-second agility test. Keeping in mind he is a 195cm ruck. A raw talent, he has to improve his tank, but is an excitement machine. With his elite athleticism and ability to have big moments in games - such as kicking two goals in the final quarter of the knockout Wildcard Round against Murray Bushrangers, Nyuon has shown in glimpses what he is capable of. A long-term prospect who the Saints would have to be considering as a rookie, Nyuon is a hard worker who is hard to bring down and is likely to be a player that will need patience to fully develop, but very few can do what he can in terms of his size and athleticism.

STRENGTHS: Versatility, athleticism, upside, vertical leap
IMPROVEMENTS: Endurance, raw

Mac Andrew is a Melbourne Next-Generation Academy (NGA) member, and one of the most exciting players in the 2022 AFL Draft crop. Whilst Andrew is tied to the Demons, it seems a foregone conclusion that he will not be in red and blue next year, having had an outstanding season despite it being cut short. From his 22-disposal debut against Gippsland Power through to another impressive showing against Eastern Ranges in his final game, the Dandenong Stingrays ruck/forward produced plenty of highlights. His vertical leap and athleticism helped him often dominate ruck contests, and whilst he still remains a raw talent with a very lightly-built frame, Andrew has enormous upside for the future.

STRENGTHS:

+ Vertical leap
+ Athleticism
+ Upside
+ Clean hands
+ Ruck work
+ Versatility

IMPROVEMENTS:

- Raw
- Strength

Do I need my sarcasm filter again. I got caught out a few weeks ago with this.

But if you are serious, I also made this comment a while back. I think when commenting on a particular race as having above average athletic skills, I am not sure it is wrong. It is generalising, but these tall African players that reach the State level, have similar traits. We've seen Marbs, but I haven't seen any of Biggie.

I think it's a fair question due to similar physical attributes. The point on Andrew though is his rating as an 18 y.o. Seems he is way ahead of Biggie at the same time. But can Biggie make quick development and reach the Allir Allir level?

I think taking Andrew is a mutually exclusive decision though.
Good post.
Andrew may become a better player than Biggie but how much better?
Both have similar traits.Agile/Athletic/Tall/Spring etc.
Both are long term projects.
I just don't think paying for a 1st rnd on a project player that may end very similar to the project player we already have on the list.

Bigger Faster more agile Dylan Grimes in 2-3 years time ;)

Pretty level headed expectations. Biggy just has to live up to them and he'll be a half decent player - maybe as good as that Rance guy at the Bombres.

It's totally different, both those players were highly rated juniors so to compare them (as juniors) makes sense. Andrew is way higher rated than Biggie, a better comparison would be to say Andrew is like Tim English.
Does English get off the ground?

It's still a decent point

If you can get a gun small forward that would be pretty handy

Also allows baker. Stack. Bolton. Lambert. Graham to play elsewhere

I wouldn't mind trying George as a tagger if he is going good enough to get a game

We have Nank;
Soldo coming back from a major knee reco after only just establishing himself as a senior player;
Ryan who has played one game and looked completely out of his depth; and
A basketballer that hasn't played a game for 5 years.

So respectfully to say we don't need another ruck is wrong.

We have 4 rucks on the list. Nank is at least B+ grade. Soldo has shown similar level talent - different style, complimentary with Nank. Ryan is raw as all get out, but the club sees him having a high level talent. Mate is obviously very very raw. But huge and talented by all accounts.

Every ruck beyond your depth position is excess. That is, if you have too many rucks, you basically can't play them.

So I'm happy with 4 rucks on our list.

People always say best available yet would overlook Andrews due to 28 year old bank. Soldo off a knee And Ryan? ...

I think some underrate how hard it is to get absolute guns to your club if you think a prospect has it. We where lucky to get Dusty at three thanks to Melb

Grimes. Tarrant. Vlastuin.
Short. Broad. DRioli.
Pickett. Stack. **Callaghan**
Lambert. Lynch. Graham.
Martin. Riewoldt. Baker.
Soldo. Edwards. Prestia.
Cotchin. Balta. Nankervis. Bolton.
+Rcd.

Agree trading for calla is my preference too. You add another good prospect to build around balta. Bolton. And fills a need next season.

Selling the future first is expensive but a good risk imho

Yea , biggie is a long term investment I sure hope we secure him once again . Has the tools to be a very good player. Will take time though

Depends on whether you see Andrew as a pure ruck or a forward/ruck. Some of the draft watchers see him more as a forward than ruck. I don't know. But I would look at Andrew as an exception - his potential is so high that I think you need to look at him in a different way.

What I am saying is that trying to get a ruck this draft is low down on the list, very low down. To me it is 1) inside/outside mids, 2) high end contested ball winners, 3) high quality wings, 4) KPF, 5) KPD. With not a lot of difference in rankings though. I am far more focused on talent than position for our first 2 picks.

If we managed to jag Callaghan and Ward (ward doesnt make it to pick 14 in any world) we would have our midfield set for the next 10 years.

This is pure fantasy and completely jizz worthy

I think clubs can only trade for a couple more days - then again live trades during the draft.

Interesting to see if Richmond pull the trigger

would love those two but damn we're giving up a lot.

7, 15, 26, 27 and our future 2nd for Callaghan, Ward & pick 55

going by that order an alternative haul might be something like Hobbs, Sonsie, McDonald, Bazzo, Howes and a future 2nd. hmmm

The other team doesn't answer the phone unless you've giving up a fair bit

I'd be more inclined to play the numbers game and stick with our current picks. Particularly given that fully proven AFL mids are going for 2 firsts, it seems somewhat ridiculous that we'd trade that currency to move up to select a player that is no guarantee whatsoever to be better than the bloke we draft at 7. If we're going that route, we would have been better off going for Cerra (which I do not advocate for either).

Think we have a great opportunity to get 3-5 really solid contributors that will bring our baseline of talent up and stand us in really good stead to remain competitive now and hopefully avoid a Hawks style cliff edge in a few seasons. I wouldn't want to squander that opportunity.

You might end up losing them like cjj. Higgins. Butler.

They may not get a game like Ross or not play where they are best - rcd

No its not.
Its no different if i was comparing Dusty too Kmart Dusty.

Its completely different.

The only similarities between Biggy and Andrew are they are Sudanese.

Biggy is a key defender that was a late speculative pick. Mac Andrew is a projected top 10 pick that is 200cm and plays as a Ruck / Forward.

Your comparison is like trying to compare Luke Jackson to Nathan Broad.

Suggest you think before posting something that stopid again
