So your saying that they will just keep they team how it is and keep pumping out flags until all the experienced players drop of the perch?
Strike while the iron is hot and get the young guys to get their hands dirty while the older players guide them with the experience.
Agree. I obviously don't know Richmond but if you guys kept everything the same you'd be lucky for top 4. Cotch looks pretty cooked, makes perfect sense for him to play forward more. Bolton is a star, he proved that last year and he just oozes quality. By the sounds of it you have some really good young mids coming through as well so to get them in you'd expect Cotchin, Martin, Edwards, Lambert to spend a lot more time forward than they do now. Also back to full quarters and less interchanges next year so a lot more rotations on field and resting up forward.

- Is this a serious comment? How many times have people tried to write them off in the last few years and they continue to stand up.

They are the benchmark and deserve to be viewed that way. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

That was a bit of an exaggeration sorry. But Richmond didn't have the same team from 19-20 and they didn't play the exact same way. Adapt or die, Richmond have been great at developing players since 2017. Balta won his first flag and was pivotal to their success all year. Baker and Bolton played in 19 and 20 but were undoubtedly more important in 20. Without Balta, Baker and Bolton, I don't think they would've won the flag. And I don't think that's too outlandish to believe. Without Rodman, would mj's bulls have won those last few titles?

All good, you may be right at the end of the day and u can tell me to get stuffed! Ha

I rate all three of the players you mentioned highly. Baker is probably my favourite of the 3, hardly ever makes a mistake. Richmond certainly have more depth than people give them credit for which has been evident over last few seasons.

I like to describe Richmond game style as being unpredictably predicable to each other. Ha.

We have some ageing players who will need to be "managed" more this year. Cotchin, Riewoldt & Houli are the main three who are past their best but still playing pretty good footy. Edwards is 32 but is still a gun and probably has at least 2 more years in him. The problem is if we don't play some of the younger players who are good enough then we will lose them to other clubs so some big calls will need to be made this year or when these guys do retire all our young talent won't be there. We could still be a top 4 team with playing some kids our structure is that good they all know there roles it's not about possesions it's about pressure.

Richmond are finished.

Dimmas love child we be spawn on GF day and the entire club will lose its collective minds, going down to Carlton by 87 points with only three and a half quarters to go.

No.
But they won't be moving a bloke that has played as a pure midfielder since day one, our #2 centre clearance winner, who's an ordinary mark and has lost much of the penetration in his kicking as a forward.

Clearly they aren't going to relegate Bolton to a fwd pocket, but he won't be attending as many centre bounces with Prestia and Edwards available next season.

His scoring excelled in the shorter format as he doesn't waste many disposals and gets involved in score chains, but regular SC is more suited to accumulators.
Richmond don't play a possession game plan and are a low scoring SC team as a whole.

Scores of 61, 78, 66 and 135 in finals, with Prestia and Edwards back.
Good player, hopefully keeps improving, just not an amazing SC pick.

Mate I never said Full time forward FFS read what I actually said about Cotch & Bolton.

Thoughts on Zac Butters?
A little pricey but is set for more mid time.
2020 season a 20 point increase on his 2019 and headed for a bigger 2021.

I really like this kid as a Mid I wouldn't pick him but as a Forward he isn't the worst in that price range. If you pick him it would be to keep and not to upgrade so being young you will probably have to accept a few of those low scoring games amongst the 100+ games. IMHO next year he will be cherry ripe.
