RCD is an interesting one. I presume, unless he is exceptional in this run of games, that he will make way soon.

Grimes, Cotchin, Prestia and Lambert will all be be back in the near future. Most likely to lose their spot would be Mansell, Aarts, RCD and Ross. To a lesser extent Rioli as well. Also, the club are keen to get Maurice Jr into the team; at the moment he is lacking a tank but he won’t be too far away either.

My thinking is that Ross and maybe Aarts exit before Riley but there is a big chance he plays four or five games tops and how much has he made by then?

Five games gets him to maybe just over 300K unless his average is higher than I would expect.

My guess is, barring injuries, this is the best result. I suppose it depends on whether the other similarly priced players are any more job secure.

This no Thursday night games really sucks....absolutely stupid idea.

Hopefully the first week for me of no forced trades - going vanilla with RCD/Hall for Tex/Gulden.

Couple of questions here...

1 - Thoughts on Harmes? I reckon he's a great source of cash gen, and can average 80+ throughout the season too. Wishful thinking?

2 - What do we reckon Thilthorpe's job security is like? He's a cheap option at R3, especially considering Flynn and Treacy don't seem to be getting games. Surely he plays out most the season, or is it again just wishful thinking?
That trade looks like you are replacing two guys you want to get rid of now with two that you will want to get rid of in a few weeks.
🤷‍♂️

Walker & Rower for Hall & Frederick feels a couple of real easy trade. Martin coming back in to hopefully repay the faith. Very happy I held considering everything else I've got to do.

Hall's probably a little risky but the DPP means that he'll surely find a spot somewhere in my team for the rest of the year.

Can we just get this round started before I talk myself out of Aaron Hall.
I knew when I brought in Hall that it was a gamble; one I was prepared to take because I could see the potential but I must say I am a bit surprised how many others are prepared to jump on. I thought the consensus would be that it’s a crazy idea.

Luckily for everyone, I suppose, because of his concussion game and then the automatic week off, his price hasn’t gone up much. Had he got the 100 he was on track for against Geelong and then dominated in the game he missed - when Ziebell got his 170, then maybe coaches would have had to choose between them.

As it’s turned out, many have been able to afford both. As an existing owner of them (for a month or so, anyway), while they perform, I would far rather that people couldn’t afford them.

That’s the way it goes. Last year we saw Selby get a couple of guys in right at the correct time and then watch thousands of others pile on board in the ensuing weeks. Probably annoying, but at the same time; while others are jumping on the Laird and Bontempelli band wagons, Selby is bringing in premiums whereas others are playing catch up.

My plan is Walsh next and then Josh Kelly and/or Whitfield. Hopefully everyone can stay fit and healthy, especially Hall and Ziebell. Given their history, they were risky.

I don’t want to end up telling myself, “I should have known better. What was I thinking?”

Someone mentioned fantasia and gulden out but i cant find the source anywhere. Can someone please tell me where this is coming from.

I think that was their trade plans for the week - not injury or selection news !!

Man i keep going back to cunnington for my 2nd trade. Last 3 averaged over 100, playing the pies this week and has a decent draw coming up. Whats not to like. Like seriously am i missing something cause for 600k seems bargain but never gets mentioned.

From Selby's insights: Ben Cunnington (84) – A big 126 and maybe he can push the 100 average this season (yet to do so in his career, hence the doubt). If you think that’s the case, then he’s worth paying that cheap price for. Is he 2021’s Jack Redden? Not a best 22, but a safe 90 at least.

Further to that: Apart from RCD, the players that interest me from cheapest are: Owies, Bryan (poss not playing), Byrnes, Treacy, Frederick, Murphy and Lazzaro. I would like/need to pay as little as possible, so Byrnes looks attractive but job security concerns me. Obviously I talked about RCD earlier, so despite preferring to pay close to the minimum I am probably looking at Murphy and Lazzaro. Paying a bit extra for JS has served me well so far this season.

Murphy looks like he will fit in well, he, along with McCreery should be the safest of the Pie's rookies and while Lazzaro has probably disappointed his owners so far, I loved a few things he did against Melbourne. Looks to have some tricks that the average player doesn't have. He is growing in confidence and should improve further against Collingwood.

Despite the inflated price, that's the way I may go.

Edit: just noticed Treacy got left in Perth. Can't make the top 30 of a team with injuries.

A lot of people already have an abundance of NM players (Ziebell, Hall, Powell, Stephenson) which is not ideal given they are bottom of the ladder and have the R12 bye.

Also you can get Josh Kelly for another $75K (or Hall for less who has a bigger ceiling and is DEF/FWD DPP) so people are leaning that way.

Cunners is a pretty safe 90 though. He had one out the box last week with 35 touches and 2 goals so his two weeks prior to that are probably a better indicator of what to expect.

I get what you are saying but north this year are bad and seems like their game plan is to keep it in their possesion as much as possible to waste time so as to not get smashed as bad so i think having north players is justified. Kelly has awesome history but this year his role isnt defined. Probably last year at GWS explaining why they are playing him out of position. Giving him one more week before i commit. Also im going serong to cunners so a safe 90 sounds awesome right now. Serong is a useless turd
