So if jelly keeps his role, he will be under 700k still next week and we would need him before the boat sails. With that being said, my bench is absolutely f’ed and would need to trade warner and a 350k player (kozi or someone) to get him. That's trading 2 playing players next week to him and my bench will still be f’ed. Do we still prioritise getting jelly?

Probably yeh. I reckon we could swapout red lights every week and still have spuds on our bench.
None of them fill me with much confidence. Probably why 1 up 1 down works so well. You take the absolute best available each week. Taking 2 increases the risk you're picking up a spud that gets dropped.

Played in one of the pre-season games, IIRC - an intercepting defender (like Wood), plays a bit taller than his height. Reasonable kick. Very raw talent. South Sudanese guy. Will be a big test for him this week....

Scott gawn I assume

Not sure - I personally would think it's Cordy out. We just play one tall (Keath), two interceptors (Wood/Khamis) and hope we win the midfield and deny Carlton too much forward time.

Ideally - English is back and either he/Martin are floating back periodically if needed.

The general view is Scott played well and deserves to keep his spot - it's just if he recovers from injury or not.

Sounds like you should have been in the coaches box last week. Bevo was bereft of ideas in that 2nd half :kissing:

What are the chances of the following Rookies returning:
  • Rantall
  • Sharp
  • Brockman
Couldn’t see Sharp returning. Randall: I have no idea, and looking at the numbers: Brockman had a very good all round game in the reserves.

Given the way Hawthorn went he’d have to be a big chance.

McNeil back or dead?

It was an odd one - we just didn't respond. I have some theories, but nothing that you can sort out of half a game of shit performance....

It is funny though. Last week was one of the few times that the Dogs board match committee and the actual match committee served up the same changes.

In hindsight - they were clearly wrong - for a number of reasons such as the opponent, style of play etc. But both were in agreement and that's what we got...

I can see why they went that way in terms of structure, but some of the more intangible aspects were out....

Exactly right, cheers ❤️

Cash gen starting to take a hit now. $15.9M team value. Which looks about par atleast.
The guy in first has a whopping $16.3M. Looking at his team it's better than mine in every way. So the illusion of a Hilux is gone and I can focus on the illusion of a hat now.
That’s what gave me a bit of confidence when I had an appalling rank.
I’m now about 500 points behind but team value is 16.2 million

That's what
My two cents.

I'd be getting rid of Webster first - flip Hind back and trade Webster for your choice of underpriced forwards (kelly/hunter/defence etc). Immediately improves your starting team. If you need $$$ to get there, switch meek and Flynn then trade in RCD into the utility spot for Flynn. Bingo bango.
I'm currently thinking
Flynn to rcd
Then Webster to Hall

Currently 54k in the bank
Then look to upgrade Fanta next week to either Kelly/ hunter/ Ridley

Not sure what the play is this week.

Fantasia and Gulden out means I can afford a guy like Mills... set, forget, done. Also suits the byes.

On the other hand it leaves me with little value for next week and will likely have to double down.

Then there's Hall and Kelly. They don't work so well for byes, but there's still time to get ready for them, and it means I can hang onto Fantasia, hope he goes alright, and dump Rowe instead. Also gets Farrar off my field.

Hall and Kelly make me so nervous. Kelly is a jet, but Cameron is the problem. He obviously is a 110 type on a wing, but will he keep the role?

There's been enough said about Hall already. These two could be massive for the coming weeks but feel like Mills is the safe long term option.

Where's everyone else's heads at?

Dunks was a glaring absence when the heat was on.. granted we were also missing a few. I think teams will be looking to bring that sort of pressure now (whether they can actually bring it is a different story). Will be interesting to see how Dogs respond next time a game goes like that. Won’t be this week though you’ll smack Carlton regardless.

Hey lads,

Have gone Rowe/Gulden to RCD/Jelly at the moment. Any other glaring issues that I should fix up first?

Cheers,
Other than the fact that you are likely to have only two players on your bench this week?

Always a 50/50 choice, and I am in a similar position. Not sure how much you have in the bank, but I managed to get rid of two non-players for Hall and RCD, so I'm happy with that result.

So, the question is; get rid of the rookies (who are now starting to bleed money) or be rid of the red dots on the bench?

As I said, 50/50 call... fix up rookies on the bench, and your onfield rookies lose cash. Trade out the onfield rookies, and someone like Cameron, Bevo or Horse makes some stupid selection calls and you cop a doughnut.

My personal approach is that as long as I have at least one emergency on each line (or can at least cover each line with DPP/utility), then I'm OK if there are more pressing things to do. This week I also have Rowe and Gulden, but trading them out would have left me with only two players on the bench. I'm getting rid of Waterman and Chapman at this stage, however if a couple of my non-players manage to jag a game this week, I'll go back to looking at Rowe/Gulden and possibly T Phillips.

It is a very tight balancing act sometimes - as this year in particular - we are beset by injury and stupidity (Hi Leon !!!).

Leading into the byes, you want as many playing as you can - but they need to be trades for keepers. If you can get someone that look likes being around for a while - say RCD on last weeks performances and the injuries at Richmond - grab them in the next few weeks.

Khamis for the Dogs - not sure a high prospect of playing multiple weeks - don't stress and rush out and grab.

Eventually you have to try to improve your side. Perhaps a one up/one down approach for the next few weeks could pay off ? I had nearly all greens last week, but have already lost Chapman and possibly Scott - to add to Flynn (stupid Leon !!) and Sharp (who he ??) - before selection where I could lose more. But I doubled down last week - so this week is improvements/sideways trades (he says optimistically).

Hopefully one up/one down next week if I can....
