I am as well but never proud when we lose to them. I just wish we would steam roll over them and expose the complete sh*t Franchise they are. its a one point loss but they still have it over us. The pissants that they are finished 3 and a half games behind us during the year fell into the finals because the inferiority out side the top 6 and just managed to field their best side for the year today while we were missing 3 of our best. **** them.

Yep, they played well but can consider themselves extremely fortunate on many, many fronts.

It probably isn't much of a consolation, but I'd prefer to lose a game like that than spend every winter weekend for a decade as a Giants fan trying to justify Toby Greene's constant petulance.

Just disappointing that our best football deserted us for a large part of the game only to reappear and then kick 2 goals 7 in the last against a side who quite simply we are better than. Especially considering Kennedy, Mills, and Blakey were missing. Beating yourself can irk you especially when the winner has a golden opportunity to expose Geelong next week. Having said that GWS won their final today. That has knocked the shit out of them.

finals sting

this has to be a stepping stone

the year overall is a big tick

guys like bell melican whoever can only go if others step up and that needs to happen

my big worry is rampe and the key defender role

Tbh I'm at the point where I'm struggling to see what Florent offers at all really. Sure, he's quick and can evade a tackle. So can JPK and Mills and they have the turning circle of the QE2. Round 22 JPK made Jy Simpkin and Tarryn Thomas look like statues and they are both quick mids. In a team full of clever players who can side-step and evade and sell candy, it's rapidly becoming obvious that Florent doesn't have any other discernible qualities to help the team.

Sweet. We'll take him.

Swans have extended Melican's contract... probably hoping they can turn him into the next Grundy instead of just being a depth piece at best. Grundy had his shockers in his early days as a KPD but turned out to be a premiership hero. Don't think he will make it but they are gonna protect him since they have invested in him.

Meanwhile Brand has a similar shocker and is about to get delisted. And at least he was playing on Dixon, a big big body.

Doesn't offer much but the sooner people accept it the better. He's am average 150 game type who will never be top 10 in the side but every team has them.

Disagree. Giants were relentless for first half, and much of the third quarter.
We had 40 inside 50s to 25 to half time. GWS couldn't miss in the first half. I mean that's good football in terms of taking their chances but we dominated general play. I'm sure the Swans of old have won plenty of games in opposite circumstances but going into half time 4 goals down in this game was not reflective of the performance of both sides.

Kennedy is 33

Yep, and Hewett is nearly 26 and still hasn't put together a season anywhere near the quality Parker and Kennedy consistently put out.

Im not sure where people get the idea he's already an A grader from.

I'm sure he's capable of it. He has all skills but we're yet to see it.

This.

I love Rowbottom and Warner and think they will deliver far more on our "future midfield" hype than Florent. But they are not there yet and that is painfully obvious when you put them up against absolute brute midfields like GWS today or Port. Can't think of anyone better suited to bridge the transition from JPK/Parker to Rowbottom/Warner than the guy who is literally in the middle of them in age and experience... Hewett!

Still trying to process 2.7 to 0.1 in that last quarter. I'm still not sure how we didn't win. We were missing important players but we dominated so much play. Our forward 50 entries in the first half were just head scratchers. That second quarter where we dominated inside 50s and then lost the quarter 6 goals to 2 just killed us.

Hewett is important to our structure, doesn’t matter if he is an A grader or not.
