Any reports on the training/match sim today?
Small sample size of 1 game, final score only 53 - 25 or something, but good intensity, I think its up from what I remember taking away last preseason last year that I went to.
B.Smith, D. Robertson, T.Berry all played well from the ones that I think might be pushing into the 22
Daniher took a nice contested mark at the highest point running full pace up the HFF, thought I could get used to seeing that
A Smith looks like he is up for the fight this year and when he got one centre clearance kick there was a lot of encouragement from the group towards him.
Looked to be quite a few not playing and some academy kids, it didnt really seem to be a probables/possibles, just getting tuned up

I don't know why some people are so in love with Answerth. His disposal isn't up to scratch.

He's hard at it and will be a good player but he's got quite a bit to work on.

As far as last year goes he wasn't available anyway the last couple of games.

Answered your own question.

Agree on his disposal, seems in a massive hurry to just kick the ball as far as possible up the field but I’ll give him a pass as a young player.

Saying that I reckon he’s out best option for those quick small forwards and has done some really good jobs

Yeah .

I wonder if he'll get a spot this year. We seem overflowing with keys in that area of the ground.
I would like to see Answerth IF fit given an opportunity, can he take Birchall spot? It seems the club are keen to play Cockatoo and probably starts from back flank whilst he builds his fitness so I think Answerth can play a role this year but perhaps a little later in the season IF Cockatoo or Starc move to the wing. Dev Robertson also comes into consideration. Good position for the club, and I hope when facing a 50/50 selection call, coaches give youth a chance.

Ended up a tie at full time, with play allowed to go on until CEY snapped a golden goal to win it for Team Yellow. Amazing how extra-competitive everyone became as the scores drew closer.

Update on injury list from foxsports.

BRISBANE LIONS

Brisbane’s medical room is looking very bare as the pre-season continues with youngster Connor McFadyenone of the few not at full fitness. The midfielder is working back from an ACL injury sustained in July. The good news for Brisbane fans is that Nakia Cockatoo and Joe Daniher are ready for pre-season action, with the latter booting four goals in a recent scratch match.

Charlie can get up high off the ground without any other player's body for extra lift.
Their are a few other players with this ability. Quite often they don't require much more than a few steps either.
Another one that comes to mind is Liam Ryan from the Eagles
I took this photo in the JLT preseason game v Hawks in 2019
And yes he did take this mark

I've seen Ah Chee go straight up vertical from a standing start a few times. Rare quality.

Mr Ripper, do you know if Answerth and or Payne were playing yesterday or were they on light duties? Just wondering if either of them are pushing for round 1?
Also how was Fullarton going yesterday?

Payne played. Answerth a no-show.
