Not sure Fullerton is suited to the role McStay played last week. I think Adams might play his role.
Adams could play forward as he has before on occasions.
But he has been training in defense so i don't think that will happen at this late stage
Agree Fullerton won't fill McStays role

I was sure we would only play one ruck this year with Joe as backup
With McStay going down i hope we still stick to one ruck
I would much rather a more mobile player on the field than Fullarton at this stage.
What i mean by that is i would rather have Madden, Coleman, Robbo & now possibly Harry Sharp over Fullarton in the 22.

I agree on Adams playing forward, I just can’t see it.
But I am all in on Fullarton in the team.
He would not be in the team to play McStays role because McStay was never in line as second ruck. So they will be playing completely different roles.
With Fullarton in the team it allows Daniher to play the role he will win us games of football as a full time Forward.

Looks like Half Forwards & Followers need reversing
Shame about McStay
Still not convinced they will go with Fullarton in round one
I hope they do go with Fullarton for round 1, but interesting that Adams is named on an extended bench for tomorrows game. He used to swing forward at the dogs, wonder if him trimming down a bit was after an end of season chat with coaches? Maybe he gets some game time tomorrow night as a roaming third tall

Hard to know what they're thinking at this stage. Can't see Fullarton replicating what McStay was intended to do , just doesn't have the same mobility at the moment though he'll likely be the better player given time.

The wing position is obviously one they're having a close look at but likely to go with Robbo if he shapes up ok tomorrow.

Without really knowing how good some of these younger guys are we do now have some depth at both ends of the ground. CEY probably not in contention, Cockatoo ,Gardiner, McStay and Answerth injured , still got T berry , Robertson ,Matho and E Smith not in the 26 ,all whom could play Senior footy.

IMO Fullarton is surprisingly mobile for his size. When rucking he is like a midfielder with his follow up work.

I do think Fagan likes three talls though and they could play around with the structure. I could easily see both Hipwood and Daniher getting up the ground more and Fullerton more of the stay at home option.

If we wanted a more physical mobile medium tall utility I think Lester would be the better option than Adams. That would sort the option of dropping a player that in no way deserves to be dropped. It is a shame McFayden is injured as he is one who might be the best like for like option in the role that McStay has been given. He could also provide a bit more midfield skills to the role.

I think it would be a massive risk to play Daniher as a ruckman at centre bounces with his injury history, particularly at the Gabba with its hard centre square. Rucking in the forward 50 would be ok though

I will be very interested in how they play Fullerton tomorrow evening
Could very well be they start with three tall forwards for a set period of time and see how it goes. So filling in for McStay
Then run with two like last year and see how that works in overall team balance

Or run him as a second ruck so a similar structure to last year

If the game plan all preseason was a one ruck structure than i don't see why they would change at this late stage
Find out tomorrow night i suppose.

Fullarton did not set the world on fire in his two games but he showed potential.
Martin did not play in these two games. Oscar & McStay the only Lions to win hit outs in these two games.
Round 13 v Saints: 8 disposals 1 goal 1 behind, 1 mark, 2 tackles, 2 clearances 0 hit outs. A reasonable debut game
Round 15 v Collingwood: 1 disposal, 0 goals, 1 behind, 0 marks, 0 tackles, 0 clearances, 0 hit outs

Edit: Dlions pointed out he did a quad very early in the first quarter v Collingwood

With another year of development he should be better and i hope he does play well as we need all the squad to be close to best 22.

In Fullartons defense he only played about 5 mins of the game against Collingwood before doing a quad.

And just as a reminder -the game is tonight not tomorrow night. Pretty sure you are going, soooo don’t want you to miss it.

Thanks for the quad reminder my memory fails me at times
I wrote the post last night and kept getting error 503. Just clicked on post this morning. But i should have reread the post.
Two bloopers in one post. Will have to lift my game
I am defiantly going. Leaving Everton Park at 4 PM that should be early enough i hope.

I agree with a lot you are saying about Daniher and he needs to stay at Full Forward. Putting him in the Ruck will be definitely be at a higher risk to injury. If he stays fit he is going to be an enormous addition for us. He made his name at Full Forward so leave him there to reap rewards. He is our best option for that position.

McStay is only in the team because we haven't found a better alternative. He goes missing in big games and struggles to take 30% of the marks coming to him. His strength is bringing the ball down to create a contest, but that's not enough to win a premiership. Hopefully Fullarton can step in because we need someone better than McStay in the forward square.

How did you manage that one.

AFL or NRL Live Pass users got their product cancelled and replaced with the above offer for this year.

You get a lot more sport and higher resolutions, but no longer have quota free streaming and it's $60 for the year.

So that is for Telstra customers?
AFL live pass?

Quota free streaming?? Missed that. Do you know if and what the quota would be?

Sorry, I think misinterpreted what you meant. I think you meant that the Live Pass (low res) offer was previouly quota free. Last year I deactivated my $25/month KAYO account after the AFL Grand Final, and would have reactivated anyway today. It was a pleasant surprise to realise that as a Telstra customer I could take up the AFL/Telstra $5/month KAYO offer.

Is that you 3KZ with a new name? Guess I will never know :)
