Apparently the tv channels Fox and Seven want to keep it as is until the w league is more self sufficient.
Ratings fell away quite substantially last season apparently.

I have been a supporter of the AFLW, especially our Lions team. However, this competition has expanded far to quickly and most games are very average as a consequence. Also, only having around 4 teams who can win the premiership before the season starts (this year Melbourne are ahead of everybody), and having several key players move teams most years. They will be waiting for awhile for the competition to be self sufficient.

Perhaps two Divisions with relegation and promotion is the way to go. At least everyone gets to play home and away.

Good fixture for the Lions 6 games in Queensland playing both Adelaide and Melbourne @ Home hopefully they make the most of it

I did and my answer was we can't easily replace them but that we would still be a good team
