The only positive to come out of today’s game:

Buddy losing 3 Grand Finals since leaving us 🤎

Although I much preferred Sydney to win rather than Geelong.

Sad way to end what has felt like one of the closest seasons going around too.

Felt like the 8 and the final series was full of closely fought games. Then for the GF to be a boil over is just disappointing

GFs are almost always a boilover, as soon as a team gets behind they give up. The prelims are far better watching.

Sydney’s audition for the comedy festival is a bloody good one. I’ll still probably see Lano and Woodley - but this is just so comically bad they’ll be a good act.

What a boring game this is 😥.

After the 2014 grand final, a lot of my non Hawthorn supporting friends told me how boring they found the grand final. Naturally, I disagreed, but now I understand what they are talking about. Seeing one team get thumped in a grand final is the worst spectacle in sport for a neutral.

Surely sitting through Richmond's snoozefest grand finals proved this already!

Least we played at an all time level though to smash the swans.

But I do see their point

I reckon this is the first grand final I have sat down and watched since 2016.

The one positive from this game is that it proves there's a way to win flags that isn't draft oriented, and that our decision to top up wasn't the wrong one when we did it we just had a lot of bad luck and moved on some players before we should have.

2017 with Mitchell and/or Lewis still in the side + Jaegs and T Mitchell could have been a lot different.
