Just saw the votes from the Betfair predictor for yesterdays game, I had no room for Wines in my votes yesterday. Maybe I was watching another game but in a losing side I am fairly confident he doesn't poll best on ground here and you would be hard pressed to give him 2nd best on ground.

I thought Rozee played a better game than Wines and was Ports best player against Freo.
Wines was ports best player hands down, was far better than rozee. Rozee kicked 2 cheap goals and wasn’t anything fantastic at all

BeforeYouBet who had a pretty good strike rate last year

went
Rd 16 Freo v Port Adelaide
3 Lobb, 2 Aish , 1 Clark

for Freo v Port

I can see this being easily a Freo sweep in votes, or Freo 5-1 votes wise. Port player will do well to poll 2 or better here.

Rd 16 Gold Coast v Collingwood

BYB went

3 Nick Daicos
1 Josh Daicos
1 Anderson
1 Touk Miller

Id imagine one could very easily get confused between Nick and Josh this season but Josh with 3 goals, surely polls the 3 in a winning side on a low scoring night?

Unless you know their process I wouldn't be putting much stock into one good year, especially a website like BYB

I looked into it in the last 3 years. 2020 can be considered a bit of an anomaly.

Before You Bet 2021 success rate at predicting the 3 votes- 124/165 (75.15%)
Before You Bet 2020 success rate at predicting the 3 votes- 78/127 (61.42%)
Before You Bet 2019 success rate at predicting the 3 votes- 115/159 (72.33%)

They aren't perfect but they can be used as a bit of a guide. I dont necessarily agree with all the votes and would back my own gut if indecisive on selections.

Isn't BYB just run by the people who used to do Phantom Brownlow where every player had a range of somethong like 15-23 votes or something completely useless

Nah their votes are pretty detailed for 3,2,1

I dont know much about the BYB team but they release their votes usually on a Tuesday, but I too would be keen to know what kind of methods or ways they come out to their votes.

This is a brief info about them:

I reviewed Rd 16 Saints v Carlton, Sinclair was the best on ground but there is just this nagging feeling for me, having not polled a vote before, he might not get the 3 here.

He is no lock for the 3 there and I'd be happy to oppose him at short odds.
