Hypothetical: (just looking at two underpriced premos vs Uber-premo and rook and seeing what works out better)

Steele + JHF + 92K

VS

2 of Cripps/Serong/Anderson/Worpel/Fyfe/T.Kelly/Dusty/Butters/JDG/Pendles

A key question for many of us, no doubt.
If JHF plays well in the pre-season game then I think it has to be the former. You get a weekly captain option and a top 8 MID, plus significantly more cash generation. If you nail the latter (i.e. the 1 or 2 that ends up top 8-10 MID) then fair enough but I don't think it's possible at this stage.

If you got another captain option,

Option 2 would be best. Personally I would go Cripps and butters

Yeah those are my thoughts too. But hell, if say Fyfe and Cripps got back to their best, Serong has a breakout season, T. Kelly owns the midfield with no one else around to support him, or Worpel gets the opportunity, then all of those are huge considerations given their significant upside.

Will definitely have my 'alt' side, with that structure, as it's a lot more fun - and probably go the safe road with my 'real' side :)

Rachele for the price .....or Durdin
Durdin F8 atm

If Stengle goes 80 next week will be interesting

I currently have Rachele but Stengle looked amazing

Stengle is a 50-60 ave player .....you can't select him at his price ....I did briefly, but came to my senses

I really wish he was priced at 190 like he should have

Andrew Brayshaw and Elijah Hollands Vs Caleb Serong and Cam Rayner

**Only if Hollands plays - otherwise it then becomes a bit more tricky. Although, I'd find the extra cash and get up to Ralphsmith/Rachelle/Stengle etc. and go Brayshaw over Serong, as I don't trust Rayner at all
What order would you rank:

McCartin, Stengle, Ralphsmith ?

McCartin is obviously risky. I see Stengle averaging around 60-65. And I worry about Hugo's JS. Or do I try and find an extra $10K and go Henry ? But his scoring history is terrible. Will wing change that ?

It's pretty much my final decision.

Personally Mccartin/Stengle no rank as feel they are irrekecant

HRS on watchlist and clear top of has the role, performs next week and selected rd 1

Stengle's JS is very, very strong but I reckon he scores less than someone like Ralphsmith. At this stage, I'm keen to see if Hugo is selected on field once Rioli returns in the Community series, as to gauge where he sits within the pecking order at Richmond. Played most minutes on Saturday, so I like his chances, but if you wanted a guaranteed score every week, I'd go Stengle.

I've tossed an turned Liam Henry, and according to Nathan Schmook he looks like he's got a guaranteed spot on that wing, but his scoring will likely be patchy IMO. McCartin isn't even worth mentioning, as all it takes is one concussion and he's finished for the year and possibly his career. Should never have come back for mine.

I'd have them ranked like this

Ralphsmith (better scoring)
Stengle (better JS)
Henry (more expensive but half decent role)
...

...

...

McCartin

Stengle could score less, but he's definitely not irrelevant. Pushed up to the wing yesterday, got involved in contests and took marks/linked up as a high half forward well - and has solidified a spot in our starting 18 given his natural nous as goalkicking forward - which is what we've been crying out for, for years. Can seem him averaging 60ish, but Ralphsmith I can see averaging 65-70 but not having the best JS.
