What a terrible 1st 5 weeks ....talk about starting from the back markers

All my mid-price MIDS flopped ...and when you have poor mids ....well
Then (C) Cripps ....well he was the cherry on top

It's taken 3 weeks to fix ....but in doing so, has destroyed $$ Cash Generation ...opting not to bring in Rookies ....but happy now with the structure & time to"chip chip" away at my ranking

Trades R6
Rowell to Hobbs
.....opting him over Rosas, even though Rosas JS is better
Crouch  to A.Brayshaw

Don't judge me .....just Pray for me
Angus or Andrew? 😜

Are there any major trends in terms of midfielder scoring there ? Do people score more or less there than average ?
Not this year .....but there is a change in scoring in DEF

Actually started to forward plan. Wtf is wrong with me right?

I think I can upgrade at least this week plus another 5 straight. Would give me 20 keepers if I count Daicos at D6.

Is the cash gen miles better this year or do I actually know what I’m doing this time?
I am sort of cautiously optimistically feeling the same.

This week: Bowey & Rachelle to Rookie & Crisp (+112k)
Next week: JHF & Hayes to Rookie & Oliver (roughly no cash left)
Week after: Ward & Dixon to Rookie & Taylor Adams maybe?

At that point, going into week 8, i'll have 18 keepers as well as Daicos.

O'Driscoll and Nic Martin go the next week to grab another uber and I'm suddenly almost at 20 keepers a couple of weeks before the Byes.

Round 9 side could look like:

Def: Short, Crisp, Whitfield, Hewett, Sicily, Daicos
Mid: Steele, Macrae, Oliver, Mills, Kelly, Cripps, Adams, [Rookie]
Ruc: Gawn, Grundy
Fwd: Dunkley, Duncan, Coniglio, Butters, Brodie, [Rookie].

It's actually a scarily good looking side by Round 9.

Not technically maths but I remember Bailey Smith being a little bitch there against Brissy (when I had him) and killing Adelaide (when I didn’t have him)

Also recall Macrae bitching and moaning there against Adelaide on his way to 80ish

Qualitative instead of quantitative date - I like it :tearsofjoy:

Very nice. I was planning to ditch Brodie in mine. 😬

Matter of time before his role gets downgraded I think. Will ride him for a bit though

Yeah, cash gen is off the charts this year. I'm currently sitting with this side:

DEF: Short, Whit, Hewett, Sicily, N. Daicos, NOD (SDK, Skinner)

MID: Steele, B. Smith, Neale, Jelly, Cripps, Brodie, N. Martin, JHF (Hobbs, McInnes)

RUC: Gawn, Preuss (J. Hayes)

FWD: Dunks, Dunc, Cogs, Butters, C. Curnow, Xerri (Rachele, Durdin)

UTIL: H. Dixon

****************************************************

From next round, looking at going Rachele down to a rook (G. Clark maybe, or S. Hayes if he actually shows something this week), and then JHF up to Gresham via Dunks to the midfield.

Round 8, I'll then look at maybe grabbing a fallen premo like Wines or similar, by downgrading J. Hayes and upgrading N. Martin. Round 9 I'll then likely upgrade NOD to Crisp, Stewart, Dawson, Doch etc. by getting rid of Brodie.

Round 10 I'll upgrade Curnow or Xerri to an uber mid like Brayshaw, Touk, Petracca, Walsh, Macrae etc.

Round 11 I'll trade out Dixon and either Hobbs or McInnes depending on who has the higher cash gen, and grab another uber up forward - Taranto most likely.

Round 12 we're into the byes and I cash in Durdin, and the other of McInnes/Hobbs, in order to get my last uber mid up from Xerri/Curnow.

Would then give me this side (as an example), heading INTO the byes (bolded are keepers and underlined are midpricers that could be keepers, but will likely be upgraded next):

DEF: Crisp, Short, Whit, Hewett, Sic, Daicos (SDK, Skinner)

MID: Steele, Brayshaw, B. Smith, Macrae, Touk, Neale, Cripps, Wines (G. Clark, Rook)

RUC: Gawn, Preuss (S. Hayes)

FWD: Taranto, Dunks, Duncan, Cogs, Butters, Gresh (Rook, Rook)

UTIL: (Rook)

Means that the bye rounds will be purely upgrading Preuss (to English as an example) and maybe Daicos and even Sicily (to Doch and Dawson or Stewart as an example), and then that's my side finished. From there on out, will be just getting the best players on every line, and picking uniques where you can, to get ahead.

Crazy year, IMO - and one where FINALLY it looks like everyone will actually get to have fun post-bye - rather than continually trying to complete their teams.

That's a shockingly good side... it is actually insane this year with the rookie cash flow. I think I was still playing a mid pricer/rookie at the start of my league finals last year. This week i'd be hoping to be absolute full bottle premiums coming out of the byes.

That being said though... it's the period in week 10-14 where our rookie cash gen may fail. We need another O'Driscoll to come in and smash the cash gen. I've got a lot of slow burns on the bench (SDK, Stein, Mead, McInnes, Durdin, S. Hayes as examples) if they don't push on towards 350k-400k and if we start brining in rookies who play one to two weeks and get dropped, it could become difficult.

Good news SDK owners. Jack Henry is out, so that money will keep rolling in. $$$

Trying to think of my trades for the next two weeks, the plan is

This week
Out: McCartin, Bowey
In: rookie, premium

Next week
Out: J.Hayes, Xeri/JHF
In: Rookie, Premium

Whilst I am tempted to go all in on Bailey Smith this week, it means that after expected price changes I will be left with $750k for a midfielder. The only interesting one in that price range is Taylor Adams.

Where as if I went for say Callum Mills this week, it would give me about $830k next week which would be enough for Cripps.

So
Mills + Cripps
or
Smith + Adams
