Bailey Smith vs Andrew Brayshaw vs Clayton Oliver

What do you guys think?

Bailey Smith only had 1 mark on the weekend for a 92. Doubt he only gets 1 mark again. I watched the game and he was missed by teammates for at least 5-6 marks. It worries me not owning him as think he goes 115+ from here. He is an absolute pig for hit up marks and 1-2 chains with kicks.

Brayshaw I think regresses. Fyfe will affect his scoring any way you look at it. His CBA's are higher this year without Fyfe + tag risk. Too pricey.

For all the Oliver love I doubt he goes any more than 108-110. His stats profile has never suited this format. He is super safe but is there upside there? 41 possessions on the weekend for 129. No goals, marks lower than other high end players. One upside is he is kicking the ball more so who knows.

If you can afford Smith without hurting future plans I'd go him.

Gone with the double POD trade in.

Grundy and Hayes for Ladhams and Lyons (via Brodie back to forwards)

Ladhams is playing well and gives me an extra ruck option +DPP so I can swing him or Xerri into R2. Already had S.Hayes on the bench this week.

Lyons gives me a nice additional POD in the mids. Would have like to have got Clark in but with the Grundy and Hayes outs they had to take precedence, and I already have JHF, Callaghan and NoD on field so I didn’t need another rookie on field.

Frustratingly have to hold Rachele for one more week because my plan was around trading him and Hayes.

Leaves me with $128k in the bank which is enough to do another couple of rookie upgrades next week

I like the Lyons POD.
I'm clawing my way but up the rankings after putting the C on Crippa when he got injured.
Feel like I need a POD mid to overtake a few.

Could you not go Grundy & Rachele, leave Hayes to next week as he won't be dropping in price at all?

Seems like an easy year to upgrade or am I wrong?

I might end up going Hayes at R2 this week due to Grundy.. but if that didn't happen my cheapest player on ground would be JHF at $511k. I would think most are similar or better.

Then I've got guys like Bowey, Curnow, Xerri, Nic Martin, Foley on field all in the $500s that I paid an average of probably ~250-300 for.

3 of those are in forward, and a 'premo' forward right now can be purchased for only $750k.

Seems like the forward line can really wait till byes and will be very quick/easy to complete with only ~$200k needed per player - and for that you actually get another midfielder like Parker, Duncan, Libba and in 2-3 weeks maybe even Taranto.

Defense is basically already 'done' for 99% of sides with short/hewett/sicily/daicos handing it to us on a silver platter.

Rucks have all been eliminated such that you can field anyone atm and not be at a major disadvantage (other than maybe Gawn).

It could be a very tough year to make ground on the leaders. Hat chances may already be top 2-3k or better for that reason.

Not sure how to play it this year. Thinking I'll just stick to my "uber elite" picks each and every week for now - I really don't see much needed in trying to cherry pick a breakout this year? ie Blakey a few weeks ago, Rozee this week etc etc.

I'm ranked 2,300 after sliding when I put the C on Cripps and he scored 36.
This week my trades will look something like:

OUT: Rachele & J Hayes
IN: J Clark & ...

I'll have just over a Million so I can get any midfielder (ideally one that doesn't have the round 12 bye).
Current Mids: Macrae, Neale, Cripps, J Kelly, T Kelly, Brodie, JHF, Rachele.

Need Help...
1) Do I save some cash and go fallen premo like Touk, Mitchell, Petracca? If so, which one.
2) Do I hunt some POD with Keays, Mills, Lyons?
3) Do I spend it all and go Smith, Bray or Steele?

I’m punting JHF but cheapest will be Noddy. I could punt Noddy and be in same position with JHF cheapest but I’ll bank $150k for next week to get Rowell to Wines.

Wines will give me 7 premo mids for round 8. I think I ended with 7 last year in round 23 lmao.

This weeks trades Hayes & McCartin to Clark & Mills just done, but still a decent enough Rd 6 side prior. Stacked midfield.

The players missing on the screenshot are

Just to make it more interesting, my captain average is 112.5 (better than I expected)
