Had a rethink

Hewett to Touk Miller
Crouch to Rozee

Still love the Rozee value and think he can push to be a top 8-10 forward with his midfield role
Yeah i think this year 90 will be enough as a forward and i can see Rozee going 85 till he breaks down

Role was there, weather was shithouse

I don't know I'm sort of the opposite on this. I don't see why the club sets such a strict guideline on it that's not realistic.
Is it realistic to expect young people just stop socializing at all in life for the foreseeable future?

Covids everywhere. I don't see the point in trying to totally shut out the players lives in an attempt to stop the inevitable and the still low chance of actually getting covid (relatively speaking).

Rotham and Nelson the only two names I've seen named as at the club.

Greg Clark may have gotten it by any of the other 20,000 chances you can get Covid.

Australia is slowly transitioning back to "if you're sick don't come to work" mantra. We're seemingly a little bit behind on it (as is the AFL).
Mmm while I agree in some aspects, you guys as a state just kicked the can down the road and are now experiencing what we did 18 months ago. We were all under strict conditions and very draconian lockdowns - as were most AFL players too. Not exactly sure you can compare the experience of your guys with the rest of the country - as they're all well behind in the COVID timeline.

It sucks, but but most other AFL players/staff within the AFL had to abide by these strict guidelines in order to keep playing at the time. That's the sorta mentality you guys should have at the moment too if you're to continue being able to participate in the season without completely collapsing in a heap (see Freo and their response of completely separating training groups and the current year they're having in contrast with you guys - despite COVID issues of their own)

It's like our work, i had avoided Covid for 2 years, everyone forced back into work told suck it up princess, back in at work for a week one guy came in sick said it was a cold, everyone then missed two weeks of work due to Covid

The players need a life outside of work, just like we do, it's like gambling, you could be struck with a car, die in the shower

I think you just need to let it run it's course

85 unders for me. I can see 90-95 I think
If he can rest forward and kick a goal a game I think 95 is doable, he is a pure mid but just seems to lack something that lifts him to keeper

As a state it's been pretty fine here. We went a long time without any public spread. We had a quick burst of it peaking, and honestly it was fine. And we're already through it and have ditched masks.

But state handling aside, I find it a bit laughable that the Richmond squad have free reign to go to out clubbing after the win but ours need to go home?

I understand the logic that we've not had as deep a community spread atm, and Richmond's players have likely already had the virus and recovered.

But the fact remains all the other AFL clubs were happy for their players to socialise, get the virus and get over it in the preseason (if the rumours were to be believed they were even hosting covid parties to all get it done with...). They're also perfectly happy for them to socialise now regardless if they've had the virus or not.

So why are the Eagles and Fremantle under such a lockdown mentality?

The biggest hurdle the clubs face is the mix of our reserves with WAFL teams. That needs management to limit the spread and it's spread through the starting 22. That's all in my opinion.

To me it seems farcical to try and stop the guys going about their lives.
I think they could set some rough guidelines for the guys and get them to self report/wear masks at training if they went out the night before/RAT test before training etc etc. That sort of thing.

Telling 18-30year olds not to socialise is setting our culture up for an embarrassing collapse (if we're not already there..)

Still got Grundy (had other issues last week) so will have a look at Hayes tonight and if he's scored decently I'll hold Grundy another week and loop the score. Will probably ditch Hewett and a rook if that's the case if I can get Cripps or similar in. If Hayes stinks it, probably jump to Preuss and use the cash to sideways Hewett to a mid uber premo.

Again I think we're gonna have to agree to disagree here - because you're talking to someone who was locked in his house for more than 6 months cumulatively, while you guys as a state had free reign over what you did, day in and day out. It's hard to really empathize or sympathize on that level, when children missed entire years of school and no-one could go out and see anyone - friends, family - let alone go to the movies or go out to bars or clubs.

But we'll leave it there, because I like you as a poster - and we obviously have opposing views and I don't wanna derail the thread any further :)

Every Eagles supporter after this news broke:

Interestingly Dion Prestia (amongst other Richmond players) was at the same club at the same time

Looked good. I think he gets a string of games. Only issue is the bye (12) but if you can fit him in I reckon he's a good option?
Rd 12 bye works so locked and loaded.

On a related note - took about 5 player movements before I could get Daicos out in my original trade plans which I would in no way be able to logically step back through with another player after one to many Friday knock off beers.

Xerri and Crouch (hard to predict how long he might be in the SANFL for) are higher priorities at this stage.
I'd suggest Crouch will be 2-3 weeks .....this happened in 2020 (Crouch not playing 2021), whereby he was dinking the ball around under pressure and selling teammates into trouble .....not occasionally, but continually ....was simply slowing the ball movement down & Nicks wants to speed up the ball movement

In 2020, he came back a different player .....kicking long, handballing fwd, and his fantasy scores boomed ....this year, he's regressed back to his former self & had to be dropped .....it's a big message to the players !!
