Mmm, my biggest concern though, is that they have Jackson who they want to give minutes to - so they can literally plop Gawn forward or rest him - as much as they like. If he does play, it's far worse than if he's rested, as his price will plummet very quickly.

Honestly, the only way around it is if you get a really decent second ruck who is also a forward (English is a prime candidate), and also get another guy like Darcy Cameron who'll get Ruck status in Round 12 - and use someone like Dixon as a loophole so you can E Gawn every time - whilst looping Cameron forward with another cheapish guy who will score well from the bench like Berry.

If he has a good game - switch Dixon into R2/if he has a bad game switch English into R2 and bring Cameron/Berry on field.

Sounds like far too much work for one guy, and if there is any doubt, I'll honestly probably just trade him rather than running that gauntlet.
In other words plan your whole life around rucks. The reason we fronted 900k each for the two potatoes from the start was specifically to avoid that.

1/3 of the way through the season and ruck trade #3 incoming. This has real potential to turn into a tigs2010 special

Dammit! What have I told you about summoning him like that? Now he's here smearing his emoticon reacts everywhere across the page :p :tearsofjoy:

Darcy has the same bye. Could still upgrade JHF to Oliver by going Gawn > Darcy. Trading one cripple for another cripple.

Would also mean missing out on Clark this week, who I only missed out on originally because I had to trade in Gawn for Grundy. Now that would be one heck of a carefully crafted sick joke wouldn't it.

I've considered Darcy...but gee is it heart in mouth bringing him in. Don't need that kind of stress in my life - fantasy is already traumatic enough as it is :tearsofjoy:

Doesn't want the stress of owning Darcy yet floats the idea of trading in Max Lynch...

My trade plans for the next 2 rounds were:

1. NOD, Rozas out; D Caneron, Khamis in. McCartin D6, Cameron F6.
2. Butters, ‘fattened’ rook out; Zorko/Crisp and rook in.

If Gawn misses I’m considering:

1. Gawn, Daics (or NOD) out; Cameron, Crisp (or Zorko) in. NOD (or Daics) D6, Cameron F6.
2. Butters, ‘fattened’ rook out; Gawn and rook in.

Either way if Gawn is out S Hayes will be my R2 for the week. But the second option gives me an extra on field premo this weekend. So I’ll probably trade Gawn. I know this could backfire spectacularly, but I’m prepared to take the risk.

The amount of trades I've burnt on Rucks this year. F me!

Started Gawndy as set and forget.
Got sick of Gawn's plate hands, so traded him out after Round 2 to Witts.
Preuss killed it, so trade Witts to Preuss.
Preuss gets suspended, bring in English.
English gets injured, bring in Port's Hayes because I couldn't afford Gawn.
Grundy and Hayes from saints get injured, bring back Gawn.
Now Gawn gets injured/rested and unless Rachele survives for a fourth friggen week but now bleeding cash, I'm playing Port Hayes.

This game!

I’ve got good cover so I can just bench Gawn thankfully. Got Ladhams at R2 and can move him to R1 and can put Hayes there at R2.

This is just a sick joke now.

I specifically didnt want to waste trades on rucks this year hence Gawndy... hence I still don't have Preuss.

Now I might end up doing a double trade-in of Darcy/Preuss... probably the 2 most injury prone guys going. They WILL miss games at some point. And I WILL waste more trades to fix them.

Looking forward to both getting injured this weekend after I finally bring them in.

Timmy back this week?

I hope Gawn is out for a while tbh... means you just downgrade to jackson and have money to spend elsewhere..... the 1-2 week injuries are the hardest to determine... like with hewett, frustraing to know what to do

Well let’s say “serviceable” cover haha. Having Ladhams sorta helps. Would be pretty grim if you had to run Hayes and Dixon.
I’ll be going juicy Preussy and Hayes if this campaigner doesn’t play. Although tempting to grab English as my upgrade If he’s back and sole ruck

Yeah that’s why I’m sitting tight on making any trades as of now until there’s concrete confirmation.

Max Gawn will have a scan on his knee after hurting it against the Saints on Sunday, the Melbourne big man was adament he wouldn't miss any game time.
