Figures. Crisp has never missed a match, but I get him in 2 weeks ago - and now he'll miss.
THIS. I got him in last week. Was tossing up between him and the slightly cheaper Witherden.

“I’m going to go Crisp because he never misses games, so it’ll be one bloke I never have to worry about,” I thought to myself. “Man I am so good at fantasy.”

So, yeah. My name is Zevon and thanks for letting me share.

Hopefully a game or 2 forward scoring 40's :D
Naughton is in some doubt for the weekend chuck him in the goal square

I want to collect all the bulldog forwards haha

You'd be filthy. Longest streak of consecutive games.. misses one right after you get him in. That's so fantasy

Crisp has always been my bug bear. Start with him, scores a 150 then a bunch of 60's to 70's and then trade him out...then averages over 100 for the rest of the year (2019). Hate owning him.

Thought this year would be different due to his perma mid role...but nooopppe...still finds a way to f me in the a :tearsofjoy:

I know i'm going to forget this next year but... please future me - don't pick a top 5 averaging player next year.

On further analysis, what Selby should have said, is don't pick ANY of the top averaging players from ANY line.

Top 3 FWD: Taranto (904K), Duncan (841K) and Anderson (792K)

Top 3 DEF: Hall (914K), Crisp (854K) and Ziebell (839K)

Top 3 RUC: Gawn (912K), Grundy (893K) and S. Darcy (786K)

Top 5 MID: Touk (1.024K), Steele (1.018K), Lyons (982K), Macrae (972K) and Titch (969K)

You could make an argument, that you didn't need to start ANY of them, and rather brought them in through trades instead.

Only Macrae, Gawn and Crisp were worth starting at their prices...out of the top 14 players in their respective lines. Crazy.

Those last 3 mids were $100k more expensive so Crae lost $100k

I haven't been exposed to anything from Selby so can't comment on that, but I'm pretty sure that exact point was made a fair bit during the preseason. Helped me reach my decision to only start with Crisp and Macrae from that list. Bought in Gawn when he bottomed out and am looking at Touk this week.

I dont really have a problem with Miller, Steele (inj effected), and Macrae.

The others were not pickable for role reasons.

~$100k loss but saving a trade is a good deal in my opinion. Especially in a year that money is coming out our eyeballs.

It's only a fail if they're not a top 8 mid. And Miller/Macrae (and Steele until injury) were/are.

The price system is a bit broken in that the more rookies that debut and play, increase in value and take money out of that total salary value of all players.
Therefore the "Maximum" price a player can get to slowly comes down through the year.

All premiums are now floating around $900k.

Nailed it!

To be fair, I only started with Steele, Hall and Gawm from that list, and Steele had been solid without being spectacular- whilst Hall was a great pick til he went down with injury - and Gawn was a must have despite his slow start. I got it MOSTLY right...but given my time again, I probably would have gone a lot differently with those first 2.

Started with exactly 2 of those Gawn and Crae

Trade options:

1. English and Bowey out for D Cameron and Zorko + $6k

2. English and Butters out for D Cameron and Parker + $96

Option 1 looks better – Butters likely to score more than Bowey but Zorko more than Parker. However, Option 2 nets me more cash for next week and better for BYE structure.

No DPP available from the midfield so can’t grab a MID instead of Parker.

Why on earth do you still have English?

If you still have him you don't trade him now. He's back by next week.

Parker and Zorko both look like good picks in their lines.

As a Cameron owner I'd be a bit weary jumping on this week with Cox back. Can't help but see them shuffling Cox and Cameron around a bit resulting in both scoring 50-70s. Just a gut feel.

I thought Hall was underpriced and "value" until he got injured in PS. He showed he could score 120+ last year and priced at 109. Injuries make it difficult to judge.

I haven't had to trade English to this point to be fair as I just stuck him at R3 (albeit saying that I missed the cash on S Hayes).

This week it will hurt me though as I will need to field SDK/Durdin. Plus if English is back next week, there's a chance he may share the ruck with Sweet

Knocked out a 125 in his first game too, so I'm not annoyed by my choice - as he was still underpriced given his ability/the Roos' hopeless defence

Yeah I really wanted him as my last def upgrade but he won’t come back and rank price. Maybe Whit to him later if Whit plays FF under McSpud
