Whats peoples thinking into going lite on in the forwards? Seen a few teams with only one, maybe two premium priced forwards with a large chunk of rookie forwards in those same teams.
There’s likely to be players we want more like Fyfe Zorko Marshall that are better Premium forwards than those we have at the moment

Easiest place to spend lite on tbh
Plenty of mid pricers have great potential to be great stepping stones when the dpp’s hit come round 6

Essentially all you need is Rayner gresham types to average 80+ those first 6 weeks to make a bit of money and upgrade downgrade them to a rookie and danger/Fyfe type in round 6. You’re probably much better off With them over a butters/Heeney starting premo. If you could would you start Fyfe or Heeney if they were both forwards? same argument for danger vs butters or even trac vs t Thomas?

With the unknown of who we will be able to pick up it’s worth waiting to see rather then locking yourself in it to premos who may end up out of that initial top 6-8 bracket we thought before the rule changes. The backs are more straight up and safe. The forwards are a raffle ticket with role changes everywhere, injury histories and unknowns. Easier to wait and pick the right mid pricers imo

I wrote an effing essay about how kents should pick Curnow and he replied with one word - "No."

Now the kent is picking him.

He sickens me too

That was before Timmy changed the rules made picking forwards worthless.

I promise I won't pick any of the pies duds you spruik about :moustache:

Treloar and Dunkley should be good for 210+ points every week.
After that, I'd prefer 1 premo, 1 midpricer and 2 rookies at f3-6 than 4 mid pricers.

My thoughts on the top 10 forwards by price.
Dunkley - Injuries have to be a worry now. Midfield beast, who is decent in a lower scoring role(forward).
Duncan - Injuries, age concerns, On the bright side Geelong don't have young players to take his spot.
Taranto - The butcher. He will probably hack his way to a 95 average.
Hawkins - A premo every year. No one takes him every year. This wont change now he is old.
Stringer - Big improvement from him last year more consistency.
Dusty - Injuries and age are a worry. He is a gun though so has to be considered.
Chad - Injuries are an issue these days + playing forward he does not score enough.
Punchable - 3rd worst DE in the league. Misses games. gun.
Dixon - Injured and old.
McEvoy - I only went down this far to illustrate how shit the list is.

I must be looking at a different set of stats to everyone else. Unlike the best mid premos there is genuine value in Dunkley, Duncan, Treloar and Heeney. And then you have Cogs and Curnow. Definite risk with injuries but I wouldn't be writing these guys off as picks so easily.

I like to do these lists to clarify my thoughts.
I did one for the defenders thread and the comments are far more positive.
If you put a line through every forward who most likely wont play 22 games there are not many left.

because all the forward premos are incredibly speculative. Dunkley is by far the best option followed by De Goey but he has massive question marks as well

Yeah, true that. Im not missing out on points for the sake of trying to save a few dollars.

I actually think there is much better value in defence than with the forwards this yea.r In fact the forwards I expect to be top 10 - 15 are very under priced.

In saying this, I have 2 mid pricers in my forward group (Gresh & Cogs) with Tarryn Thomas at F3.

There are a lot of very good sub 500k players that are looking hella juicy. You could potentially start a fill/close to full forward line for 2-2.5mil this year.

Most people will because the good fwd premo options are very thin this year. Better to go cheap in the fwds and load up on mids imo.
