Sign up to a course. In WA or another state in a position to . Please.
This. One day you could be in a position to save a life.

The retired Ambo who held our course said that he and others have been asking governments to have CPR training taught in schools and even if you do it badly or break a rib no CPR is worse than nothing at all as it is vital the blood keeps flowing and circulation active.

Agreed
I have administered it many times and rib breaking is actually good. It means you are more likely to be pressing the heart, which is how you push the blood around the body. So it’s 100% a good thing.

Should be compulsory at high school
I did it as apart on my year 10 or 11 Health and Human development back in like 05 or 06.

but i think it was an extra opt in thing.

Whether this is accurate or not, he must be stable if they are waiting?

That to me is a good sign I think.

If he was critical or the Ambos think he could pass away they ain’t waiting for anyone. Time is crucial in the initial moments after the heart attack happens.

i recently updated mine. My sister is a community leader which is like a part time Ambo in regional areas. they mostly drive the paramedics when on the job. She does that on the weekends since she is also a full time teacher. but always wanted to be a paramedic.
Good for her. The lifeblood of rural communities. Teachers, paramedics.

I remember doing it but problem is medicine is always advancing and what we learnt is no longer the most effective.

We learnt how to give mouth to mouth but that is no longer recommended.

The heimlich is still shown on tv shows/movies when that is no longer best method.

Can we give the guess work a rest? What does anyone gain by guessing what’s happening and I suppose trying to be the first to guess right?

balmainforever I wont be home tonight. so i wont be able to clean up any insensitive posts. But i think this board is better than that and dont expect any. But just giving you a heads up.
