2022 Richmond draft picks (& deathriding North)

Swans have 2 first rounders
I’d say we’d get 1 if we trade Dusty which I hope doesn’t happen

Hypothetically
Pick 9, 12, 19, 27

Which gives us room to go after Taranto/Hopper and stay with a healthy draft hand

I’m fascinated to see our approach this off season
I can’t wait. Hoping we get into finals first though!
What would 9 and 12 be worth?

I’d need to look at the points chart for the equivalent
But if we had those you’d think a top3-5 pick which gets you into the top range

We’ve picked from about 9 onwards since Vlastuin and it’s been hard to find gems in the first round. So trading up could be fun getting back into that top end. All depends how deep the draft is I guess and whether we’d be willing to trade up

Want in order of preference at our first pick;-

Cadman - 196cm 88kg KF, GW Rebels
Jefferson - 195cm 78kg KF, Oakleigh Chargers
Hewitt - 185cm 84kg Inside Mid, Swan Districts

Any of those three would be fantastic. Good chance one of them will be still on the board at our pick too

Olli Hotton (son of Trent but not a FS selection) is apparently a bit of a bolter after the National Championships.

Mid- forward , Cal Twomey tipping he could go top 20.

Might be the type we’d go go for with our Norf pick we received for CJ

Few extracts from a recent article

“has arguably been the surprise packet for Vic Metro, bringing trademark explosiveness and cleanliness as a midfielder and adapting to a new forward role with aplomb.”

“Hotton has an excellent athletic profile to supplement his increasing endurance – a 75 centimetre standing vertical jump and 2.89 second 20-metre”

I hope we have our eyes on Fraser (with one of our late picks or perhaps a rookie pick), looks a likely type.

Latest game V Williamstown:
Fraser Elliot (26 disposals, six inside-50s, five clearances)

"Had a great game. He was really clean in and around contests and he had a big impact on the game around stoppage. He's a big 19-year-old kid who is progressing nicely."

The points calculator shows 9 + 12 = pick 2

It is but the only problem this year is they’ll likely get a priority pick in that slot which will go before our pick

Still a big win for ccj

As part of the package, they will more than likely get an end of 1st round pick rather than a start of second round pick so we should “hopefully” still have the first pick of the second night.

It’ll be pick 19 regardless

Can call it end of first or start of second round but like you say hopefully if they do get that pick it’ll be on night 1 so we get first pick of night 2 👍🏻👍🏻

Fingers crossed

Yeah but it’s the being first on the second night that’s the valuable thing not the number of the pick itself
Obviously

We’ll see what happens with their priority pick

End of first round/ start of second round will be interesting what the AFL decide on draft night

Our pick loses relevance if they pick first on night 2 so hopefully that’s not the case

The fact we got pick 19 or 20 for ccj and we can use it to bring in a Taranto is a huge win for the club it would be like us giving pick 12 and CCJ to get Taranto its a deal and a half from our point of view.

With another year of exposed for who here would reverse that Trade for CCj (a.k.a ZOMBIE)
#19 + Tarrant + Chol compo + 2 pick upgrade of 40 to 38

Meanwhile CCj has done SFA ar Norf
Remember melts that it wasn't a high enough pick, imagine what pick North would get for him now. Somewhere in the millions.

Guaranteed that Essendrugs pick him up before us now. Well done!
