Im a bit of a newbie but does the Emergency have to be a player that is playing as well this week?

And if I stand to be corrected , using that strategy it means your counting 10 players, if you look to double the points with the VC? (and taking the Captain out)

Yes, that's the point of Emergencies. If a player on the field scores 0, then they take their place.

This is all known as the VC loophole, works the same as in AFL SC. There's plenty of examples and explanations out there that might explain it better than I did.

Can use loops to take the best score out of Connolly, Sangha and Chaudhary. Dorff and Hardie I think have earned trust from me. That leaves 8 scores to take care of, 7 of which are DGW players so hopefully can muster up one good game. Main concern is Philippe...can't loop with McDerm so he will probably be my sub 10 score for the week
