Serong got 10 coaches votes against the suns, but not Brownlow votes.
Edit:
Noah Anderson got 1 coaches vote, but 3 Brownlow votes.

Bailey Banfield robbed.

8 players in the the lions v GWS game got coaches votes, but Neale wasn't one of them yet he polled 3 votes. The AFL have put out a few stories suggesting he'll do better than the market says. Feels like they were trying to soften up the public so it isn't controversial.

He gets votes on name only it’s ridiculous.

Holy shit. Neale had 20 disposals in that game. Charlie Cameron kicked 7 goals

They don't know who has won it, which you're suggesting.

The debate rages every year that the umpires really don't know who was best, it's why players who are regularly successful get votes they don't deserve, the umpires are attracted to certain things and familiarity is one of them.

The coaches award is more accurate, it just doesn't have the prestige.

I mean Fyfe also got some highly questionable votes in 2019. It happens every year. The umps are terrible judges.

Yeah this is basically it. There's no conspiracy aside from the fact that the most "prestigious" award for the season is decided by people who have an unavoidably limited perspective on the game.
