Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

I believe 100% WCE are getting Curtin. They won't allow a home-grown player with such talent go elsewhere. They will make the trade of picks with North who will subsequently draft Reid. Whilst his destination is not official, It's nice watching Curtins highlights and imagining him in the brown and gold, however, West Coast bound he is.

Talk of us trading for a late first/early second round pick is just fanciful. You just need to see our draft hand to know our intentions. Apart from pick 4, we are then covering for McCabe etc.

why not pick 4 +f1 for pick 1?
Is north really going to offer something better?

Sincerely hope this doesn't come off as rude, but if Spud Webb had been 6'9" he'd have been Magic Johnson with hops. His height will at some point limit his ceiling. That's not an insult or anything he can control, but you simply can't make a decision that completely disregards that. Pretty sure that's not what you were saying, but there seem to be some who want to dismiss this limitation in its entirety. We still may want/take him and I will be fine with that, but eyes wide open is all I'm calling for.

Trading with North is the only way to guarantee Curtin. Plus we could finish 10th so risky for them. And is if we finish 16th again.
WC need multiple early picks. It will either be 2 and 3 for 1, 23 & 37 or 2, 15 & 17 for 1.

What makes your opinion any better?

I'm going to side with him on this one, for the 'nuffie trifecta' potential.

I remember a poster claiming to be Ollie Henry's grandfather saying he was disappointed to be drafted by Collingwood and would request a trade to Geelong within 2 years.

Then there's the famous Timokane on the main board who claimed Collingwood would win 3 of the next 5 flags. But he said this pre-2022 when they'd just come off a 17th place finish.

Getting in early with the 'Duursma will suck' call.

I say well done on siding with me, and I welcome more to do so.

Duursma might well turn out to be a good player. I doubt he’ll ‘suck’.

But he’s clearly been overhyped. It’s not hard to see. He’s clearly doesn't possess many elite attributes, and will turn out no where near some of the ridiculous expectations of him. Some of the labels such as ‘generational talent/Shaun Burgoyne’ are flat out laughable. Looks an average player/nothing special in my opinion.

I think the issue with Curtin isnt so much his elite attributes, which despite what some people think, he has plenty, it is the fact he sees himself as a midfielder at the top level and clubs aren't sold on that. So if North take him at 2 or 3 with the intention of playing him at CHB (where clubs see his best fit) then is it more likely that in a year or two he comes to them and wants to go back to WA because he wants midfield time and prefers to live in his home state?

That isnt just North obviously, it would be the same if Hawthorn drafted him.

However to say that he hasnt got elite attributes, while it is your opinion, isnt one that is shared by people in recruitment

I’ve seen enough.

When threads just become a discussion about the stupid shit being said by one poster it’s time to remove them.

Discussion back on track.
