Strategy 2023 Bye Round Strategy

After this weeks trades. Starting players only. Rookies not counted.

R12: 14 players.
R13: 18. No cats or suns.
R14: 16 players.
R15: 12 players.
Update. After this weeks planned trades.

R12: 15.
R14: 15.
R15: 14.

Would be happy to field 3 rookies during these bye rounds to get me through.

for the first time this year, I've taken notice of the byes, and it will effect my trade-in decisions

at the moment I have the following (pre rd10 trades):
rd12 = 5 premos missing
rd13 = 0 premos missing
rd14 = 6 premos missing
rd15 = 7 premos missing

So no more round 15 premos for me
Zerrett is coming in next week, so he's my 7th rd14 premo
Strongly considering Rowell this week
Warner/Neale will come in in rd13 (after their bye)

Not counting rookies...

R12: 15
R13: 17
R14: 13
R15: 12

I need 3 more premos to "complete" the team.

So I'll acquire a premo defender who plays R14 and R15 in the next fortnight.

(i.e. not Sicily. Maybe Lloyd or Ryan, since their R12 bye is good for me?)

Trac after R14.
Walsh after R15.

Though a Neale who is sub 550k after this coming weekend (and has the r12 bye) would make sense too.

Assuming my current rookies hold I can field. (Not including Johnson who is hopefully is back in)

R12 - 20
R13 - 24
R14 - 21
R15 - 15

Will trade to improve R15. Plan on trading Hopper/Ryan/Cincotta by this bye, and would consider sideways trading any of Rozee/Sheezel/Green.

So looking ok at this point.

Interesting – they've changed the graphic to show how many you have playing now, as opposed to how many are missing.

cool. I just discovered there’s more stuff underneath the fixtures. never scrolled down that far before.

I’m still screwed for R15. either I tank it or try to hold a boost and 4 trades.

Im doing a couple things. The first is ensuring i have a fair bit of cash in hand going into the byes. The second is loading up on all the Cats and Suns that appeal to me - Currently those players are Stewart, Rowell, Humphrey & R.Atkins. I may add one more to my team next week but having those 4 is a good start. Im also looking to use my last upgrade before the byes on another gun player from the round 12 bye so i can rely on them over rounds 14 & 15 which are the challenging rounds.

So yeah, nothing revolutionary. Just a few small moves to ensure i dont get to round 14 and realise im screwed. Lets face it, if injuries/crap rookies hit, that could well be the case anyway!

How are Geelong such a good footy side and so tragically bad for SuperCoach, is there ANYONE at the cattery other than Stewart whom is SC relevant?

Hawks were the same during their run, the Tigers too.*
sign of a good footy side.

*disclaimer: I could be wrong but that’s the way I remember it.

Here's my plan over the byes.

round 11:
#14 Ratugolea to McAndrew
#13 Wilmot to Stewart
$5k banked

round 12: (14 premos available)
#12 Ashcroft to Wardlaw (+$230k)
#11 Angwin to Ford (+$50k)
$285k banked

round 13: (19 premos available [20 if Oliver plays])
#10 Mitchell to Neale (-$250k)
$35k banked

round 14: (14 premos available)
#9 Weddle to rookie (+$200k)
$235k banked

round 15: (14 premos available [15 if Oliver plays])
#8 Ford to rookie (+$130k)
#7 Wardlaw to Cameron (-$200k)
$165k banked

6 trades left
Day at D6
Cogs at M8
Cameron at F6
$165k in the bank to help get Day to D7/M9 (Day to bench; Cogs to FWD; Sheezel to DEF; MID premo in)

(I reckon that figure will be closer to $200k, maybe even more, as I was conservative with the price +-)

Whoa - that's quite a plan there!

I'm yet to finalise this week's trades :eek:

But, back to your plan - you'll need a lot of luck to be able to execute those plans, as things can change very very quickly with SC
GL though

I know things can get ugly real quick in the world of SC, but having about $165k left means I should be able to make it work, even if players don't make enough cash, or get dropped, or get injured, etc. If any premos get injured, with the 3rd trade available, I'll be able to sideways them to other premos without ruining my trade plans. The only thing that will derail my plan is if I cop 2+ LTIs in one week, which is totally possible.

This is a huge trade week, big decisions to be made. Lots will look back at this round and it'll make or break their season.

Currently have this split for the byes.
R12 = 20
R13= 21
R14=17 + Cincotta Hopefully.
R15= 17

Pretty happy with this. Hopefully only do 1 trade next week (Baker>Wardlaw) which doesn't change these numbers. Will be down to 13 trades. Only iffy player is whether Johnson is still around in R14/15.

This is also worse case scenario that Oliver returns in R15 after his bye.
