We should be going for Ben McKay imo

What's his contract status? Carlton rate him extremely highly.
I assume he is contracted for a while but that doesn’t matter much if we can convince him to ask for a trade.

Then it just becomes a case of us offering something that Carlton would rather have than keep an unhappy player on a lot of money.

Our first pick this year and next would have to go close to that.

As I said in a previous post, he is right on the nose with some Carlton supporters.

West Coast are shortening to win the spoon. They will worry about the draft tampering Read. They may be open to trading number 1 to a Norf for pick 2, Hawf 3 or us at Pick 4 with lots of extra Sweeteners.
They will definitely trade it imo

Melbourne already in talks to them apparently. They want it bad so wouldn’t surprise me if they have spoke to Reid on multiple occasions already

Melbourne would have to move on some very serious players to get the draft picks WCE would want.

West Coast will trade Pick 1 for multiple first round picks.

There's absolutely no way they're going "all-in" on a player who might just want to go home in 2 years.

You guys are dreaming, as if the Eagles trade away the next Dustin Martin

He’s a country Vic lad with very little flight risk, not like the metro mummy’s boys at all

Agree. Not saying they won't but it would need to be VERY good. If it is Melbourne start with JVR and go from there.

plus cannot see them using early picks on non WA kids. They are in diabolical shape and will take years to recover. Only locals will want to go there and stay .

They need inside and outside mids. They may offer significant overs for Corey Warner to return home, but unders for Gus who they can walk to the PSD.

I am not convinced that is the case, but if it is we should be working on how we can get that pick off the Gold Coast. Then we could make an excellent offer to West Coast for pick 1.

We would probably need to include a player because lots of teams are going to be able to put pick combinations together that are appealing to Gold Coast.

It's so hard to move players against their will, especially at the last minute, so they would need to have been working on it for a while.

Although, Gold Coast have probably already agreed to give Geelong their first round pick.

Corey Warner hasn't done enough to warrant significant interest.

Reckon he will get more senior games this year. Is improving and thought he was very good v Port.

Might get a few towards the end of the year but not sure how he's remotely ready. Could be used as the sub though, not sure he gets the whole game

Eagles won’t trade pick 1, but if they were to do it Logan McDonald and our next 2 first rounders would be the starting point, we’d probably need a fair bit more

Sheldrick and Warner have negligible trade value and wouldn’t be part of any conversation for pick 1

You are bang on with the request. Logan plus pick 4 for pick 1 might be one they'd consider. A slide trade. Personally, wouldn't do it, having thought about that a bit over the last few weeks.

Would the club trade McDonald and our first for Reid?

He is a special talent apparently but never know I guess

That's the one WC would want, and I get arguments both ways. Would I do it, no and that's depot how much a generational talent Harley looks. Trade Logan and we are back to square 1 with KPF, with Arartey always copping injuries, and the other options aren't long term ones.
