I am never sure how much truth there is in these rumours.

I think player agents will hint that we are interested in every out of contract tall forward. Because Franklin will likely retire, so therefore we will apparently have lots of money and be desperate to replace him. Also we are fairly discreet so we probably won't bother confirming or denying rumours.

It makes us a convenient target to drive up a player's price.
Even if we aren't interested we should be happy to drive up the price of other clubs' players.

Stuff is not made up without any substance the deal may not eventuate but at some point there was discussion between xx club and player manager.

Absolutely no to Fyfe would of been great 5 years ago but will be expensive cost a young player position and is injury prone not to mention i dont believe we are close to contending.

If we are going to bring in Fyfe for two years, then we may as well extend Buddy's contract for two more years. Same sort of thing.

Have to agree maybe if we fell short in 2022 temptation might of been there.
Not really. Takes development time away from someone. Stephens/Roberts/Warner does not get game time. Sets you back unless it works out for a premiership. That is the price you pay for a premiership. If you don't win then your future is somewhat compromised. Games into younger players do not happen and your future is affected. Sets your future back. It's a balancing act. Only later on do you know whether you made the right decision. It would not be easy.

Have to agree its incredibly difficult trying to balance a list.

That being said we could go 24-0 and i still wouldnt feel confident heading into a GF.

I still back in the organic growth of our midfield and the draft, but will we bring over a ball winning contested midfielder in the offseason?

Himmelberg seems like a great fit in defence to support Tom in the air. I want to see how Francis plays down back if horse chooses to swing him down that end.

We desperately need a bigger midfielder body wise. Don't think they need to be a big possession winner necessarily, but just someone that can crunch in, win some ball, tackles well. Easier said than done.

I do hope the Himmelberg rumours have substance. Exactly what we need - for all his faults and injuries, we are a totally different team when we have a fit Reid running around. Himmelberg is arguably a better player. Could do a job at either end, is in the perfect age bracket for our overall list, and would mean we can jettison some additional trash beyond just Buddy heading off into the sunset.

Will all depend if he is settled in Sydney or not - if he is, we are in pole position surely.

Indhi Kirk and Caiden cleary both ball winners. Hopefully they continue to progress and worthy of making the list next year. Cleary in particular I'm bullish about - big body and reasonably tall. Until then, we need a few of our guys to find some consistent form.

Our current list. This is what I would be considering come years end based on current performance. Frightening thing is based on current impact, it would make little difference to our line up with the exception of P. Mac and to a degree Franklin purely because of his presence.

I hope we have not written off Magor already and delist him straight away. I think he has got talent.

I hope Wicks gets a few chances in the seniors this season. I think we could have used him last night. He has got an angry intensity and rapid closing speed with his tackling. He is like an animal hunting his prey.
