That 15 to 40 space is very eve.

Few months ago i said 20 to 40 was a very even space and could hold a few gems

That’s before our trade period

And yes we will most likely only do two picks this session as I reckon Reid will be re signed - something I said when he was put on LTI

Honestly even though Caden may get through to us in the 30s early 40s

And he is a local boy and etc

I think there will be a few really good gems in the 20 to 40

EssenDUMB

There'd be some seriously pissed off players there knowing he gets that kind of money walking in the door.

What could they possibly think to themselves? "I've lead this team to 5 losing seasons in a row, I deserve that cash"?

Another confirmation indicator that we are not splitting our pick 12 and taking two players before Cleary.

Splitting pick 12 is insane considering we fought tooth and nail to keep it during this trade period and I'm still utterly bemused people think its a good idea.

Jeez thanks lol

Still think it’s a good idea as I do rate the players slightly below our selection.

I get some people think its a good idea, but I've heard you're logic and can't agree with it given the evidence that we could have split pick 12 multiple times in the trade period but chose not to.

Pick swaps are generally after the trade period to be fair. I don’t feel we do trade down just hope we don’t trade up and waste resources

If we trade up it won't be pick 12 either, I reckon. While everyone is jockeying to get into the top 10 we have far too little draft capital to get any of them to move.

I liked my idea of trading down to improve our future hand..
p12 for North p18 + p57 + F 2nd (North might need p12 to get p1?)
p45 + p55 + F p19 for Suns F p10 (tied to Dogs). Suns will need those points

Swans end up with..
A future upgrade from p19 into the first round + a good future 2nd round and only drop from p12 to p18 this year.

p18 for Schoenmaker or ZZ
p57 to match bid on Cleary (any excess points can come from norths future 2nd which will only drop a spot or two)
Swans get to death ride the dogs

Agree it’s what I’ve been saying all along. Our two realistic options are take pick 12 or trade down and split (either both this year or one this year and a future)

Are you really surprised ?
Its a hypothetical thread - the entire purpose of this thread is propose trade & draft possibilities - so I'm actually pleased people embrace the context of the thread and participate.

People are allowed to get as outrageous as they like, and others are okay to disagree so long as its respectful.

If we had to fight tooth and nail then there was obviously clubs having a lend and we must be considered mugs to try that on

Hypothectical!! Geelong are on the clock for their pick 8 which has become pick 10. O'Sullivan is still available.
Do we go to Geelong and offer them our pick 12 and the future end of first round we got from North?
I suppose it depends on who or what Geelong want. If they also want O'Sullivan it is all moot.

Maybe, but they could get better offers.

In any case the Cats will run down the draft clock until we give them our future 5th (85) as well.
