He's cheap enough not to burn you too bad, can easily jump off for an early performing rook.I heard he's going through the midfield this year and is solid af, taking a gamble and hopefully it pays off.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a tweak later on after reading the threads on positions and I may even get into the top 1000 this year. Still trying to work out when to sell the rookies before they become too stagnant in earning $.
So many high priced Rookies, soaking up your $$$$ and costing you a decent F3 premo ......very rarely do high priced rookies pay off
Nice DEF
You want 11-12 Premo's (keepers) in your Round 1 side .....you can't get there with so many high priced RookiesThanks for the tip, I'll give it a tweak later on after reading the threads on positions and I may even get into the top 1000 this year. Assuming we have enough rookies to allow this? You want 11-12 Premo's (keepers) in your Round 1 side .....you can't get there with so many high priced Rookies
I've got 12 premos, 4 mid-pricers (inc Yeo) ...counting Ashcroft / Phillips as certainties, that leaves 4 on-field Rookies, which I'm pretty confident in.Assuming we have enough rookies to allow this?
Don't get me wrong, I think 5 rookies is a good number but I wonder how many red dots we'll all have if the likes of Mackenzie, and Phillipou out don't play round 1.I've got 12 premos, 4 mid-pricers (inc Yeo) ...counting Ashcroft / Phillips as certainties .....that leaves 5 on-field Rookies, which I'm pretty confident in.
The only query is, will we get enough cheap rookies ?
Well, neither of those two are in my side, or likely to be .....I'm praying for Chandler, Fahey, Tsitas, & JohnsonDon't get me wrong, I think 5 rookies is a good number but I wonder how many red dots we'll all have if the likes of Mackenzie, and Phillipou out don't play round 1.
IIRC Mac Andrew is club suspended for 3-4 games ....maybe pencil in Constable, but have a rubber handyLong-time drafter, first time Classic player. This is what my team currently looks like. I have swapped between Max Holmes and Jai Culley 40 times already.View attachment 1609132

It's damn hard not to end up with 4-5 Rookies ....if you downgrade a premo, the most you'll save is $150K - $200K ....not enough to do much withLast few winners have averaged 4-5 rookies on field with up to 8 mid pricers.
Yeah 'rookies' include anyone rookie priced, which this year is below $300.It's damn hard not to end up with 4-5 Rookies ....if you downgrade a premo, the most you'll save is $150K - $200K ....not enough to do much with
What's Phillips ....3rd season into his career, he's not a rookie, but priced as a Rookie
Same with Pedlar ...3rd season into his career, he's cheap as chips at $213K
What's the cut-off price point for a Mid-Pricer ?
How was Petracca?I was at today's intraclub for the Dees. 4 x 20 minutes with AFL umpires.
Oliver was close to BOG. He was completely unhindered by any thumb issues.
That's a strange way of spelling Gawn, Grundy and BrayshawHow was Petracca?
Fantastic. He and Oliver were best. How was Petracca?
Excellent. Think I might run CP5 over Sooky McCrae.Fantastic. He and Oliver were best.
Grundy kicked 2 goals and was very busy.
Keep an eye on young Judd McVee. The first two quarters was the probables versus the possibles and McVee took Salem's place in the probables.
Phillips & Ashcroft are no brainers .....the question is, how many, B4 it impacts the quality of your premo'sPretty sure Selby and a couple other winners recommend paying up for the higher priced rookies. I have 6 between 270-300k sitting there who look likely for round 1. I'm even content having Weddle at $266k sit on the pine.
You also don’t want to pay up for a $280k guy if they’re not a locked in best 22. Especially with discretionary subs this year.Phillips & Ashcroft are no brainers .....the question is, how many, B4 it impacts the quality of your premo's
Of course, we're looking for value with every pick ......but paying $280K for a 50 ave, which I can get for $200K, doesn't equate ....but that depends on their role
Example: Is HAW Mackenzie plying mid minutes, or will he be stuck on a HFF ....that'll impact his ave & whether he's a value pick .....don't pick them simply because they were a Top 10 Draft Pick
Exactly ! ..... a Weddle for example, you'd imagine he's less likely to be subbed at 3/4 time, given his time trial resultsYou also don’t want to pay up for a $280k guy if they’re not a locked in best 22. Especially with discretionary subs this year.
Just to add to that Davey is prime sub risk, doesn't have the fitness to do a full gameExactly ! ..... a Weddle for example, you'd imagine he's less likely to be subbed at 3/4 time, given his time trial results
Remember the pain Ward & McDonald caused last year, as expensive rookies .....there's still rookies that didn't play last year, or not many games ....that now have 2 x PS's under their belt
