Good point on the tackles.

It’s really hard to choose becuase bringing Short in will mean upgrading Wilmot will be a lot easier with the DPP next week, but the Tigs play Port this week who aren’t midfielder friendly, BUT Port had a shocker last time at the G

Libba is the second most likely to avoid getting Bevoed behind Bont, but the Darwin conditions do play a part and Bazlenka is getting more CBAs

Both have the pros and cons so will have to decide which of the risks is less

Libba is fine. Dunkley gone he's filling roles. He'll keep his. Bont's even more risk IMO as he can be damaging forward/injury prone. Bazlenka's CBAs will come at the cost of Treloar/other rotational options. I still think he'll probably lose half the role to Treloar and Daniel will stay as the fifth banana in a 30-40% role.

I wouldn't get Libba, but that's for other reasons. He's the safest role wise in that side bar English and Naughton, and his style should be unimpeded by football in Darwin.

Imagine Worpel will do well at Marvel (under cover?). C Jones was playing more of a lock down small defender role last year vs HB/Wing role this year. Also, Jones has averaged 91.5 at AO, so should score better than 41 (famous last words).

Other consideration is that I can move on Fiorini early and still gett Merret. Just a question of who will score better over the byes / generates $$$.
Worpel: Saints, Power, Lions, Bye, Suns
Fiorini: WBD, Crows, Bye, Blues, Hawks

Still have some time tonight to think about it

Not sure on Worpel. Marvel usually quickens up the game and he's painfully slow. Can see the ball rubber banding over his head all day. Then again StK pressure so well it forces kick to kick in defence, so perhaps might be the exception to the Marvel rubber band.

I'm holding Fiorini not for the byes, but until his bye. Ideally upgrade to a Brisbane or freo player in round 13.

I can't understand why anybody would hold a mid priced player during the byes, that's the week to upgrade.

Yeah, unless this week goes horribly wrong, my stance too. Once the first bye is over, he's not that much different to anyone else who's not Syd/Stk/Bris/Freo in that he's got a bye left and played through one, so I'll probably look to move him on too. Not a keeper, not close to one, so no point keeping him 2-3 weeks too long and through a bye when he's redundant. That was the advantage of picking him - if he turned out to not be what we hoped, he's a prime trade candidate in a week where we'll struggle to find useful trades.

I guarantee Sharp will not be playing next week. To date, no Lion player has ever scored more than zero during the bye.

Don’t you bring stats and facts into these threads !!!

As one of the resident North fans what do you think of a Simpkin pick? Last 2 years he seems to have started slow and then avgd 100 from this point.

I need a cheap second "premo" trade in to fit in around 750k and under
I'd say good value pick. He's not normally injury prone but has had a couple of injury affected games this year which have reduced his avg.

Probably goes without saying but CBAs / role under no risk as he's our #2 guy

Should be a solid 90-100 guy from here

Only downside is in the dreaded Rnd 15 bye

Just noticed too that Short just about has five tons in a row, which is a rarity for under 900k guys, which makes me more confident about him too. I’ve said in the past I’m all about body of work.

You get three trades each week of the byes, surely you can get a better bank from trading three rather the usual two and be ahead of the game to boot?
You're definitely right. I guess my worry is that if I pass on one of them this week, they'll be 40k more next week, and there doesn't seem to be any other rookies coming thru to downgrade to over byes

Think I'm set on these trades now:

Brayshaw is not super value but I'm hoping he pops a 130+ vs no midfield Melbourne. If he does people will find it very hard to get him after his bye when he's hitting 1mil and playing Richmond.

I want Laird and Steele too ultimately but Laird can come in next week at a similar price and Steele after his bye

Hoping Hobbs brings points and some cash gen. I think this is a decent middle ground option when stuck in a bad spot with 2 injuries and trying to choose between a sub standard premo with the second trade or a cheaper rookie who will leak points on field

Yeah, agree, you and I should be allowed three trades every round
;)

Gun to head choice.

Simpkin or Witherden?
So the gun is at your head for Witherden, and Simpkin is your pure relief option then?:D

Struggling between 2 options:
1. Cincotta & Hunt to Humphrey & Hobbs. Feels sideways but provides cash gen and allows me to replace Pedlar on field with Humphrey.
2. Cincotta & Hunt to Mullin & Baz. Classic 1 up 1 down to bring in a premo, but Mullin may be a 1 weeker and this means I have to keep playing Pedlar on field.

For option 2 I could also trade Wilmot instead of Cincotta to allow me to bring in McAndrew rather than Mullin, but I feel that I need to trade out at least 1 red dot this week in prep for byes.

Thoughts?

I need to trade Kelly.

I am a bit hesitant purely with Brayshaw having the bye next week. But he is probably going to be hard to get post bye. hmmm

It's a good point. When people were trading him in 2-3 weeks ago I thought, that's a bit late to be getting a round 12 guy. Since then two 130s and he's up 100k with more to come this week. Jokes on me

I'll probably still try to bring him in in round 13. Your options coming off the bye are him or down to a Parker/Steele type (already have Serong). It's a big gap

I'm incredibly light on for rd 12 bye players. The choice for me was either Brayshaw this week Steele later or Steele this week Brayshaw later. So based it off BE

It definitely depends on your set up

I am relatively light on for R12 bye players - only got Dunkley, Marshall and Gulden as premos. Ashcroft the other big one.

If he helps your bye spread, its worth it I think

I've been carrying Cowan for too long and Drury is almost maxed out at 234k ... so this week im fixing that.

Mullins is the 'Irish Naicos' so am expecting 100avg for the rest of the year.
(Also worried he will be another Sheldrick, but I'm due a win so am feeling confident!)

Taking $399k into the bye rounds 🍻
