Thoughts on this...

Option 1: Trade a bench rookie down and use the cash on Lloyd to a big dog defender. Leaving limited cash to upgrade Sheldrick next week. Might be able to scrape 180k from Robertson potentially.. leaving a target in the 750k range.

Option 2: Trade Green down to Mills, use the cash on Lloyd to a big dog defender. Leaving bench rookie (Windhager) to get cash for one more week to upgrade Sheldrick next week with 250-300k, grabbing someone 800k+

Option 3: Trade Windhager down this week and then go Green to Hewett next week, banking like 350k, grabbing someone in the 900k+ range, like Dunkley.

So basically. By the start of next round would you rather have:
  • Tom Green, Premium Defender and someone like Witherden, Salem, Cameron, Toby Green etc; or
  • Callum Mills, Premium Defender and someone like Wanganeen Milera, Nic Martin etc; or
  • Hewett, Premium Defender, Premium Forward.
Playing for league only, so could also potentially keep Sheldrick for another week after that if he has a good score and save up more cash before finals to grab a premium in either scenario.

Having just seen Hewett's price, and the discussion around that - maybe option 1 as I can always go Green down to Hewett next week and get a big dog premium. So have added Option 3 in the above.

Going through all the other mid replacement options for Simpkin. Leaning towards Steele still but want to consider all my options, can only go from $918k downwards.

Neale- probably one of the best available. Lions are at the G this week though which makes it a tough call, but it’s against a depleted Dees outfit

Butters- run out of steam

Anderson- could be Dewed at any moment

Treloar- injury prone

Macrae- will be Bevoed

Libba- least likely to be Bevoed

Green- tiring out

Jelly- can’t cope with a tag, injury prone

And then you go to the Viney, Parker, Keays, Touk, Steele areas below that

Head says go best available and get Neale, and cross my fingers there’s no forced trades for a third week in a row, will leave me with $1k in the bank but have Sheldrick ripe for a downgrade to get cash in

I can't remember a year when there has been such a shortage or reliable options outside the first 3 - 4 players (5 - 6 in mids) in each line.... In the past you've had numerous POD's that were performing well that you could try to use to make up ground - here it's just a list of guys you don't really want...

That’s why I’m going with Neale, averaging the most in the L3 in the price range. Anyone below him im not entirely keen on

Actually that's a fair point, if Dunks is back then that's my forward upgrade (think I can afford Hobbs to him), but not sure he will be.
I'm hoping Dunks has one more week out ......his assistance to my side would be greatly appreciated

Option 2, with the Messiah!

If Sheldrick (E) spuds up again I'm in trouble. Can't just field MJ now considering this new sub risk. Hoping Sheld can go 80+ so that I can trade out MJ and use the cash to go DCameron > Steele

Might finally be rookie-free the following week

Rd 18: MJ + Cameron > Harvey + Steele
Rd 19: Sheld + Chesser > spud rook + Docherty

Sheld (E) spudding up screws everything though and means I wouldn't be able to afford Docherty the following week

Harvey or Banks against WCE ?

Need some help .....nowhere else to go, so in desperation, I'll ask here :moustache:

Do I trade
Cripps and Davey ....or Walsh and Chesser

It's Walsh versus Cripps .....understanding with Chesser a lose a money maker, over a dead rook ?

Cripps & Walsh haha

I'd lean towards Cripps and the dead rookie, Chesser has a BE of 15, scored B2B 60's, has the Tigers this week at OS then the Blues and North the week after at OS again, could theoretically make 80-100k if you hold him that long, I'll be trading him out (all bench rookies) in rnd 20/21 with Lord, Fletcher, Wilmot then Hewett, Banks and Harvey after that, hopefully leaving me with a bench of 200k'ers come rnd 24

I would get rid of Cripps and Davey ahead of Walsh / Chesser - so I guess it's get rid of Walsh and Chesser for you:tearsofjoy:

I'm not sure...don't even care about scoring I just need a rookie to survive more than 1 week. Uwland...Roberts....Drury....Sharp....Harrison...it just never ends every rookie I seem to pick gets dropped. Except when I pay through the nose for them at an inflated price like Sheldrick

Whoever I downgrade to this week will be my only cash cow left on the bench so I can't afford to get it wrong but I will

Thanks for the feedback .....good advice on Chesser, so may have to flip Walsh (only option) and Davey to get Sicily

Need to be mindful of generating enough cash to bring Dunkley back in

If the rookie you downgrade to is your only cash cow then their scoring is certainly something to care about. Banks in this week for me and out in 5 weeks (rnd 22), Harvey in next week and out in rnd 23

Yeah, what #4tune8 said. (I wish I'd said that, and not sounded like I was half way to Reddersville)

you reckon Banks lasts that long? Don't actually know who he is or where he plays but I'd take anyone who is good to play the next 5 weeks

Especially for you Redders: Pick23 2021 National Draft - from Clarence, Tassie, same club as Jack Reiwoldt.

He's in for Short who's out with a hammy (3-4 weeks?) and Ralphsmith hasn't been setting the world on fire either, like most rookies, if he performs then he'll get a good run.
Reckon Harvey showed enough in his 1st game too with woewodin (geez he looks like his dad) not far behind.

Think I’m gonna be flip flopping a lot between picking Steele or Neale this week. I keep changing my mind haha.

Serong suspended ffs and I just got him. Thought I dodged a bullet get him instead of Trac who's magically a forward now and Crouch who got impacted straight away by Steele being good again. Turns out they were all bullets
The third forced trade I’ve copped this week. Him, Simpkin and Nank……. Hope he appeals and gets off.
