Talking of sliding door moments

Sunday morning .....I had already traded Davey to Harvey .....giving me $240K in the bank for this week

So, I start getting nervous and decide to reverse the Harvey trade & go Soldo instead .....this is 20 min B4 the game .....then with 5 min B4 game time, reversed the trade, believing the $240K bank was more important than anything Sold could produce .... based on his history & apathy from the RICH board towards Soldo

You're paying for the consistency (High floor).

But if you need more $$ to get rest of your rookies off-field, or moving on an underperforming premo, Touk/LDU is the go.

I’ve been guilty of the same, overthinking trades for whatever reason and it has cost me quite a few points this season.

Going with

Ash to Gawn
Redman to Flanders

And leaving it at that haha

If Darcy is 3 weeks .....hold Jackson 3 weeks and trade-up .....give Dunkley a couple of weeks to get back into form & drop price (drop $54K first 2 matches back)

Am I completely bonkers for this?

T1: Keays to Miller (-32k)
T2: Dev Rob to Flanders (-251k)

100k on the dot leftover.

Means I have 23 'premiums' and HH is benched this week.

Initially I was going to go HH to Dunkley (or any premium - Sicily, Serong, Parish) but feel like Flanders is a 'must have' with the new role and new coach. Looks every bit a 95-100 guy which is top 6 numbers. But if I went Keays/DC to him, I'd have 480-550k to put on top of HH's head, and Miller was my target anyway.

So gambling that the value of having 23 and looping each week exceeds whatever Dunkley/Serong outscore my 23rd player by. Feels stupid unless Flanders very clearly is a best 22.

& with serious cash on Windy/Wilmot's heads anyway, I can down/up them and never have to worry about cash again.

Is this silly? Should I just forget Flanders and go 2 of Keays/HH/Cameron to anyone I want?

There's a few ways of looking at this.

As last week proved cover is vital, would have been very handy to have had a 23rd player combined with a strong bench last round so I can see the logic from that perspective. It's definitely a strategy used in SC with limited trades, however in this format points on field is paramount now and getting those guys who are consistent scorers with high ceilings is the go. Maybe if HH had the ability to pump out the odd 130 then I'd head down that path, he hasn't shown that yet and you might be looping players scoring 70's.

So petrified the moment I move him on he'll have that ceiling game I reckon he's got coming and those who hold will benefit.

I'm not sure what your trade alternatives are, who can you get on field in place of HH on the bench and Flanders at F6? Are you looping HH with DCam?

Honestly this is what worries me about jumping off as well. HH hasn't scored a ton all year, he's likely due for one.

Yeah, that was truly one out of the box for Soldo - can't recall him being that active before. They say big blokes take time, but aged 27 is crap load of time. He had never tonned up before, and his best season was 2019.
