That's great except there is absolutely no guarantee GC (or any other side) is an easy side and the AFL is dumb if they think they can predict that.

The "fairest" way is to just accept that the host teams get a 1 game leg-up each year (not necessarily the case when Vics host), 2 teams get shafted and the rest get a neutral.

It's absolutely a neutral venue for us, but I'm not expecting us to get to play Gold Coast at Optus too and we would be third behind Geelong and Brisbane for finals teams getting to choose out of WC/North/GC for the side they play.

So based on what we currently know:

R1: v St Kilda @ Marvel (Sun twilight)
R2: v Opponent TBC @ Optus (Time TBC)
R3: v WCE @ Optus (Sun twilight)
R4: v Adelaide @ Adelaide Oval (time TBC)
R5: v GCS @ Norwood (Fri arvo)
R6: v Opponent TBC @ Optus (Time TBC)

Note, round 6 is ANZAC Weekend so it is highly likely this would either be Saturday or Sunday night.

Round 4 and 5 are the other way around

Happy with this to be honest

Also as we're listed first, does this count as a home game for us?
Each team gets 11 home + 11 away + plus this abomination. "Home" teams in Gather Round are the teams listed first alphabetically.

Port and Adelaide the only teams to get a true advantage.

Strong chance of the Luke Jackson cup v Melbourne round 2 at Optus, judging from what we know of other fixtures and the AFL love of drama

But just another little snub from the AFL to add to the memory banks that will make the first flag just that little bit sweeter.
I'm pretty much at the point where I would rather win the inaugural flag of the Gina-Twiggy breakaway league.

When you write it down it looks like a fairly cruisy start to the season (touch wood).

I'd say round 2 will be against the Bulldogs and Round 6 will be against either Carlton or Melbourne

I am thinking round 2 will be against the roos.

This drip feed of fixtures is an absolute farce but it’s just par for the course for those jumped up idiots at AFL house.
I wonder do they just go on massive random coke binges to figure out the next dumb idea to inflict on AFL fans?

“It is what it it”
I mean, WTF? That’s the kind of quip I’d expect from a love island contestant not a senior executive of a major sporting organisation.

Yeah AFL executives have a jealousy complex with all other sports in Australia.

Bet the fixtures will be released coincide with the World Cup final or another release on Sunday due to quarter final.
