Think it was the right choice. Gave Maxwell an over or 2 to get his eye in before power hitting.

Both these guys came in with a lot of time left in the innings. Difference is they played themselves in before going bang instead of Maxwell throwing it away ball one. I think it was the right call. Not sure I’d go back to it though because Maxi mightn’t have the mindset for it. Seems to think the promotion up the order means he needs to strike at 600

Totally disagree. Maxwell got out first ball, that was the problem. Coming in with 20 overs remaining you would assume Maxwell could face at least 60 balls, which is potential for him a century.

We were 1/200+, Smith should have come in and played normally to set a foundation for Maxwell for the last 10 overs when he plays his best.

More than likely he would have also tried to smash the first ball for 6 but they have a few power hitter so it couldn't effect their batting line-up had he also got out first ball whereas we don't because both Smith and Labuschagne are playing.
