Can't really argue with Demattia where we picked him, appears to have a solid head on his shoulders which is what our coaching group looks for above and beyond the usual traits.

Looks like there might still be a kpd or two on the board for our next pick with a little luck, time will tell tomorrow on that.

I’m now to the point where I want us to fill the rest of our list with ground level players just to annoy posters on here squealing for us to go tall! We just won a ****ing premiership with our draft strategy. It works.

Possibly. But given that need may be more immediate than what a draftee KPD is likely to provide, depending on Murphy’s concussion evaluation we could look to fill that need via the SSP.

Does anyone know if Dekka can count above 190? He must have had a bad experience when he was younger with a tall person so doesn’t want them around him.

Someone said in the other thread that his kicking inside 50 was a big weakness,but I didn’t really notice it in the video of him to be honest.

- Accumulation - he averaged 14.3 disposals for Vic Country.

- Composure - he averaged 19 disposals for Dandenong.

More than a ball magnet but some recruiters look for the cheapies.

Reid is the one that I want.

Eyre is a given at this stage unless some bizarre or freak accident happens. We need talls and he's in with the team now.

If not, forget a tall, just grab Stevens and raid the state leagues over summer for the tall that can play now.

What are the weaknesses for Demattia pre draft? Looks good in the vids.

Reckon clubs may have doubts he plays as a mid at AFL level, and maybe more of a flanker. Also didn't seem to have a great champs when put against the best kids his age. I also noticed his rookieme draft profile has endurance as average, so I reckon his 2km tine may have been disappointing as well.
Few things there but you don't get to this stage of the draft without some things to work on. Seems a good kid who'll give himself the best chance.
