Does anyone that goes to training have any news on Tom Campbell, achilles injury, usually keeps a player out for a longish period.

Did I miss Campbell being injured? **** Achilles isn’t good when he’s our only Marshall backup outside of second year players

I don't think its a full tear, the injury list said "short term" which must be less than the 8-10 weeks they have for Hayes.
It says soreness and March here.

I think he had it, very early days of pre-season. And abit of an unknown timeframe, with achilles injury. But, I didn't see that they mentioned it was a snap or tear, so maybe just being cautious.

I think Wilkie was spot on too, with his assessment of our forward line for the 1st half of this season.
Last season & probably the season before, we were too reliant on Max King, & the stats show, that King was the main go to forward in the league. With our new game plan (run & gun) we should be able to find more avenues to goal, instead of holding the ball up & waiting for King to lead.

One thing I notice in the various videos of training going around is that our hand balling seems to be no better than the past. Watching loopy handballs or putting the ball behind the player running past seems to continue.

To put the ball in a crisp manner into the path of the player running by seems to something that eludes us. In those videos (mainly on Saints TV) that player has to break stride to reach back behind him to get the ball. Such a waste.

Really hope we can improve that area. As an old Rugby player it was drilled into you to pass in front of the player you are intending to hit. Very basic.

Putting the ball out in front so that the receiver is on the move means that the ball carrier is actually harder to tackle because he is moving at pace. Static handball receives are much, much easier to defend against. If you want to be a rebounding, running outfit then this has to be a well drilled skill.
