Lol Kane Cornes has such a Napoleon complex. Finds every single opportunity to criticise us. Actually funny now, wouldn't be surprised if the Steele story is fake too 😂

He's paid to suck a few into his bullshit stories so got to give him credit for at least achieving that.

What’s he saying now champ

Just that rubbish story about Steele yesterday lol
What was that?

David King and Kane Cornes with Rob Walls on the radio yesterday. 3 guys with 87 opinions that switch daily. We had a few months of intelligent tennis and cricket commentary. Now we’re buck to these flogs, Dermie, Darcy, and BT. Puke.

Just that shit about what Ross apparently said to Steele under his breath. Makes me laugh, got some absolute peanuts covering the game.

You forgot Dwayne Russell. Kellie Underwood or whatever her name is too. Can't get it right, atrocious on FTA and Foxtel.

Vol-Kane-O got you a bit flustered, hun
Said it was funny, perhaps have another read of my comments, four eyes.

Now, where's my black forest choccie, blankie and glass of red? I thought we were watching re-runs of MAFS tonight? xx

Yeah it get's me excited if that's how it pans out but I've got question marks over the list quality and possibly needing a reasonable turnover by Ross over the next few years. As you say this year is about Ross getting his feet under the desk and assessing what he has got to work with.

The secret PM gang, aka the silent minority probably know what really is happing though huh ;)
Ah The 1%... champagne, yacht, and caviar set.

Man this type of posting is getting pretty tiresome. Brut just answered the question, it's not having a go at the "ITK club". Why do you have to be so precious about it, honestly no offence but who gives a s**t, you know what you know that's great you can share it that's great but at the end of the day it's an anonymous forum so there's no need to take things so personally.

This whole "I remember so and so getting howled down for saying this" nonsense, the forum has been going for years people have said many things that were right or wrong you yourself have been suspended multiple times haven't you? Forgive and forget.

Can't we just move on, it's a new season, new coaches and at the end of the day we all want the same thing which is success and we are all just supporters seeing what we see and commenting on it.
A whole lot of this. There are some very very fragile egos on here.

Huh?

Young player drafted gets initial 2 year contract ..... the club then has the option to offer him another contract or the club decides not to offer him another contract so therefore he is free to seek another club or do what he wants ..... I would say if a young player doesn't get offered a 2nd contract then he is probably crap anyway

If the club decides they want to extend the initial 2 year contract but the player doesnt want to sign and wants to go somewhere else then unless a decent deal can done to satisfy the club losing the wanted player then the said player has the option to either sign back up or sit out for 2 years

Now most of the time a decent deal would get sorted between clubs but on the occassional chance the 2nd club is trying to screw or cannot satisfy the demands of the 1st club for a young gun player they have put 2 years of development into then the player should have to suck it up and make a decision to stay or sit out.

AFL want a level playing field but clubs like GWS and Gold Coast and few less wealthy smaller clubs seem to get reemed moreso than others by young players getting homesick and the club then having to take unders or maybe nothing at all to satisfy the players want.

Young players like Pickett or NWM (hopefully not) who may desperately want to get to a specific club like Port but Port not having the adequate compensation to do the deal because they burnt all their picks the year before .... yet .... the crazy pressure of "if a player wants to go to a club of his choice then his current club must do all they can to satisfy the leaving player's demand or lose him for nothing" is high level bullshit.

Comparing AFL to other standard companies in other industries is wrong because there is no trade platform between companies in other industries or let alone an internal trading platform between departments within a company .... pretty sure Alfred Hospital doesn't negotiate staff trade deals with Peter McCallum Hospital for staff who want to swap medical facilities or trade deals between internal departments within the hospital.

Does anyone know of an industry where companies have a trade platform with other like minded competitors or a trading platform between internal Departments?

Hey I will trade my Mastic Man for your Scaffolder or maybe I will trade you a Orthopaedic Surgeon for a Physio and a Nurse and will throw in a Kitchen Hand .... deal?

AFL as a company is unique because of its trade platform between clubs and they should be able to set rules to protect clubs rather then everything skewed towards the player ...... hey if players don't like it they can always do something else.
If players want to leave to go home they should not be able to also choose which particular team in that state they want to go to.

Home is home, the club he is departing from must be able to get the best offer.

This is exactly how I see it, and like you, I have never been so relaxed. When the coaches talk about an "exploratory season", this is what I imagine.

Our development has been dogshit since Ross left and its no surprise why we danced with the devil and brought RTB back.

We could wonder why in the last 9 years no one at the club had a handle on this, but what's done is done, better to focus all our energy on what we can change.

These players are in for a massive shock - I hope... no, EXPECT that the good ones can take it.
There are numerous players that are playing for their careers..expect around 8-10 players won’t be there at seasons end!

Their careers at st kilda or in general?
Older Players
Campbell......Ross?

Always Injured
Jones.......Billings?

Young Players potentially overtaken by others
Connolly Bytel Byrnes Highmore....Paton

Not made a yelp
Allison

Potentially looking elsewhere
NWM and Clarke

Not getting a chance
Sharman?

There's 13 players and a week is a long time in football .... so a season is like a decade.

So lets wait and see what unfolds RTB will weed out those that are not up for his not negotiables.
