Nick Daicos, in his second AFL season, fights in a race against the clock to return to the field from injury.
The title of the film, Take the Steps, was a motivational phrase used throughout the 2023 campaign. The playing group were challenged in the pre-season and climbed the steps of the MCG on the eve of their 28-week season. Take the Steps became a metaphor of the hard work required to achieve ultimate success of an AFL premiership.
Wow. Not even a free video for the faithful. Can't even watch in the privacy of your own home?
Same here, but for next Thursday at my local @ Victoria Gardens.Just bought a ticket for next friday @ melb central
I'm at Frankston & they have one screening a day for the first 4 days. No going for me the wife & our grand kids I guess. perhaps the following week.I don’t care about throwing a few bones the club’s way to watch a feature length doco, the issue is restricting it to being shown in a cinema chain that simply doesn’t have a regional presence.
I’m not really interested in doing a four-hour round trip to go to the movies
I'm sure it will be available online, dvd, Blu-ray, etc after it's been in the cinemas.Good luck to anyone in the country. No Hoyts to be seen.

I don't care. I'll buy it or watch it online, because I live rurally (90 minutes from the CBD) and don't have Hoyts near me.I'm not about to give the club a pass for doing an exclusivity deal for a few extra bucks. Do feature films ever get released to certain cinema brands only? Hardly.
Hoyts has zero regional presence across the country. I live half an hour east of Geelong, it's hardly Timbuktu. Yet they are only franchised around Melbourne suburbs.
It's just a slap in the face to the many, many Pies fans who don't live in metropolitan areas.
Was recorded a few weeks back and will screen the week leading into opening roundSo the club after getting ever cent out of the supporters through merch sales which seem to pop up in your email daily are now wanting more by having the doco at the cinema.
This is a blatant money grab.
Does anyone know if the club is doing the GF replay on Fox with the players being interviewed, they do it every year and they are really good.
Being patient is just part of being a Pie supporter isn't it?Fair enough. I respect your patience!
I've got no issue with the club wanting to make some money off the premiership, especially given that this may well have cost additional resources to actually produce. But I'm regional too so I can't watch it.
I'd gladly chuck in even $20 to give it a go on a streaming app, especially now before the season starts and it's still quiet.
To save me the trouble of changing my preferred cinema location out of pure hypothetical, how much are they charging per ticket?
