People potting Dow are a bit miserable. Was this his first genuine start of the year?

7 centre clearances, a good goal, a smoking GA to Charlie. Lead the team in metres gained...which I'd argue does actually mean something for a contested player.

A small silver lining that he'll get a few weeks at the coal face.

Dows game today

Dow picked up a bit in the last quarter and a half I reckon. His ability to move through traffic is sublime.
He did some fabulous things. We should keep him.

He’s always been part Blue

But yes the moving it on fast and splitting short and mid kicks and splitting the talls (young must learn to avoid Charlie) is all great to watch and what the pies do

How I feel about this result is hinged entirely onhow many of the in game injury concerns were cautionary compared to how many were serious.

No issues putting the cue in the rack and playing some holding footy in the third and running the game out with lesser lights in the last. I find it darkly amusing that people are willing to criticize a 70pt result after the last 5 seasons.

We knew we needed to beat one of Melbourne or Collingwood if we are to make finals going in today. We did more than we needed to do.

Next.

Charlie, you are a star. First time I’ve seen a 10 from one of ours.
Hewett was back to some of his best. Some of the numbers already posted in the thread are huge. Clearance work from our mids and moving it away from stoppage was pretty strong today. Walsh was smooth that first quarter.
Walshy and JSOS injuries are a concern with a massive 3 weeks in the run home.
Would have been more but the fact we kept it over 10 goals with two on the bench for a quarter or so of footy was solid. Now to somehow find tickets for Friday!

We don’t really, 3 out of 5 would probably do it.

Though in saying that, a win in one of those games would help, as none of st kilda, GC or GWS are gimmies.

Was at country footy, watching one of my boys play… There was no reception and the game wasn’t on the radio…

I just got home and saw Walsh, JSOS, Motlop & Cincotta we’re all down as injured are the injuries serious or precautionary?
I'd say Walsh, JSOS and Motlop will all miss next week. Walsh and JSOS probably 2

Walsh slight hammy and doubt he'd be back in 2 weeks. JSOS jarred knee so unknown how long but minor I reckon.

Motlop not sure what it was but muscle of some sort of assume. Cinc seemed fine, depends on delayed concussion but doubt it.
