Don't want to get to d&m but my old man was old school Carlton through and through. He passed away last November and this win has brought me to tears... He would be loving the way we're going about things right now😞.
Same with Dad. He passed this April.
I feel like the boys are doing it for him.
I get teary every win.

Vossy said in his presser that he was about to sub Dow out when Dow kicked “that” goal. And then he couldn’t in fear of being lunched by an angry mob of Carlton fans.
So while Dow has impressed a few on here, it still seems he is not a favourite choice of our dear leader.

Funny that Fog had 4 touches & Dow was the one about to be dragged 🤨
For those playing at home, Dow still winning the centre clearance over 25% of the time. A little more belief from the coaching staff & we have a serious weapon at our disposal.
He sure as hell doesn’t get phased when the pressure is on & the games in the balance - he steps up.

A few random thoughts;

TDK and (to a lesser extent) Pitto were important in stemming the tide in the second half. We won the contest on the back of winning clearances and they wore Marshall down.

Despite what many on here think i dont think anyone is anti Dow. There is just a feeling about where he belonged in the overall scheme of things and why he was rated down the order. First half today re-enforced that but his second half showed how he can break out of that. Well played Paddy. Going to have some nice selection problems in the week to come.

Likewise Fish. Good coaching to have him as a distributor off half back.

Didn't mind the 7 commentary. Dangerfield, Johnson etc even made B.T. lift his game a bit (albeit from sub standard to below average).

Backline was good and snuffed out a few attacks that looked like certain goals. How good is Nic Newman? Marchy still rusty but you can see what he brings.

$8.50 to win the flag. Pies have drifted from $2.5 to $3.5 in the last couple of weeks. Means nothing but a general indication of how well teams are going.

Michael Voss continues to grow in the job. Players appear to love him. I foubt he has any concerns about injuries etc sbd will just back in the next one.

Saints are average. Only way that they could beat our depleted side was to try and tackle us to death. We kept taking the game on and making them chase. They were exhausted by the end. They are a fair way off and Ross Lyon 8 goal a game will only keep them mired in mediocrity.

How good is footy. Looking forward to Saturday night.

Doesnt make any logical sense does it?

Would have thought Dow‘s impact on the game compared to Fogarty’s would have changed Voss’s mind on the subbing, rather than Dow’s goal.

Paddy Dow sure has his critics. He did his bit today though, and more than played his part in the win.

Good on ya Paddy you silenced the critics today!

He’s the perfect sub for when the troops arrive. As good as he was he’s not Walsh/Cerra level.
