Not a lot of love lost between Blacres and some of his former team mates.

Think he REALLY wanted that win.

Funny thing is that they shipped him off to Freo to get Brad Hill in. Hill ended up costing the about $900K per year and the equivalent of pick 6 (if you total points). The funniest thing is that Acres is a more substantial footballer than Hill. They could have kept Acres, the draft picks and the cap space and been better off.

Got home from the game and watched the replay of the second half - going to ignore the first.

Newman and Acres brilliant.
Did not see that game from Fisher coming.
Ollie Hollands better have a rising star nomination this week.
Dow a few errors early, much better second half - still has his flaws but good contribution today.
TDK good second half presenting hard at the footy, did some Kruezer like tractor efforts around stoppage too.
George wasn't a stand out today but feel like he has quietly played himself back into form.

Up the baggers!!!

I've mentioned a couple of awful experiences I've had with Pies' fans at games this year (as a Carlton fan and neutral).. Well no Pies' fans in sight today but an equally awful experience, if not worse. 2 Carlton and their mate - a Hawk. Absolute trash. 15 year old brains in 35 year old bodies, and that's offensive to 15 year olds.

If you happen to see this, grow the f up and have some consideration for those around you.

I can’t write anything about the game that hasn’t been written before. So, I’ll make some more minor points.

Well done to all of you in the crowd. You were enormous. Absolutely electric atmosphere coming through the tv. I will get my chance to see us in two weeks at the GC. I’m sure our fans will be making a similar effort up here.

I’m glad I don’t post in the game day thread. I bet it was depressing reading at halftime.

Boyd is definitely best 22 imo.

Dow, Fisher, Marchbank, Pittonet, Fogarty, Cincotta very unlucky. Hewett/Kennedy sub.

Id think Walsh, Mckay and Silvagni are pretty much givens now. McKay to assist Curnow up front, Silvagni in for Pittonet for mine, and Walsh probably for one of the newer little guys.

Blake’s ability to step through contests in this second half of the year is very under rated. Time and again he opens up play by stepping through forward instead of hand balling backwards.

Makes a massive difference.

And he is very reliable overhead
