I’m still optimistic on Campaignerstable but I would be amazed if Chesser is named so we’ll have to find a way to replace his 30

Penciling in him to Callaghan so no Chesser is ok by me, no campaignerstable would be an issue this week though. Hoping to be able to go McGrath up to Daicos next week but that could be campaignerstable (I think.. not sure where I'd get the funds) but need him to survive this week.

Just on this - Selby’s got Xerri to deal with (in his SC side, he’s still not playing fantasy) so I daresay his thoughts are influenced by that, i.e. if you’ve got a Xerri sized problem to deal with then hold Kelly.

Xavier Ellis who is his offsider on his podcast also has Xerri, so I’d say the advice was very much skewed towards an assumption that most people would have bigger problems to deal with.

If you haven’t got any other majorly pressing problems then I’d get rid of Kelly for sure - even if he’s back in a week we don’t ever seem to see the best from players returning from concussions for quite a few weeks.

True enough, rare for a player hit his straps when back in first week.

The trade is balancing act between selecting your weakest likely link once you know what the teams are, then exploiting that weakest link for better points and/or better cash gain. If I had Kelly in my team at the moment, I would trade him, it is the best team I've had for Rnd 1 ever. However in other years, I probably would not because I had more pressing issues to resolve from some bad initial selections. It's horses for courses.

Do you entertain a world where you only make one or no trades? I wonder how often people self-sabotage by over-tinkering when they don't actually have any issues to address.

Trading Stewart and Kelly, options are:

1: Sic and Green (miss Chandler)

2: Green and Chandler (and have to field 2 of Wilmot/Uwland/Cowan in defence)

3: Sicily and Chandler (and miss Green)

I want to do 1. Someone tell me 1 is the right answer
I don't think Chandler is a must have. Could easily be dropped this week with the ins they have coming back.

Yeah, it feels a little disrespectful, shouldn't we at least be calling him a Senior Constable by now?

Not likely, though getting the finals you might, it is still about making more coin, make no coin and you go backwards.

Not yet. Another good game this week and I’ll consider dropping the Probationary Constable badge he’s wearing currently

If Chandler plays he is - the guy is a BE -27. If he only scores a 50 that is going to bring another $54k. The early $$ gains are crucial. Sure, if he gets dropped the week after you've had only a $54k game, but if he plays again you could be getting close to $100 gain. What if he excels and there was $200 to $300k there. Jumping on guys the second week is often where the bigger bucks are because the BE has usually plummetted and there is a no-risk gain. Even if he scores 10 you'll get $26k. How did it go with Cowan, Hollands, Laurie, Chesser, Tunstill, Roberts, Greene, Calamiti etc....?

The number of marks all the FREO defenders took last week was obscene ......that game was an outlier & so many FREO defenders to spread the points

Nearly an 80 point increase on his norm ave, is unsustainable, given last year was a breakout for Cox, averaging 65

Not only unsustainable but undesirable from a Freo fan perspective. I expect a few changes regarding our ball movement this week.

Mate, the guy is out of the Sandringham Dragons. That probationary badge would have been given to him by his Mum and Dad for his 12th birthday - sheesh!

Bruhn > Chandler

Can’t decide for Stewart. Either of the following:
-Stewart > Uwland: this generates some cash while Uwland is still cheaper and then then plan is to turn the cash into a premium for any strugglers this week in RD3

-Stewart > Sic: basically an upgrade; potentially miss decent score for Uwland against Dons. Premium defenders didn’t score too well otherwise so gives a week to assess who to upgrade.

Won my first matchup last week. Can’t decipher between cash Ben and premos. Any input is appreciated.

Sandringham?? Who writes out the full name like that… I’m from Sydney and even I know it’s Sandy.

Next you’ll be telling me you write Broadmeadows or Dandenong out in full as well.

How about you stfu and keep your opinions secret like the last and 2nd last coach there before you Craig….🤦‍♂️

“If I'm the opposition I would tag Nick. Yeah, I would. He is a weapon," McRae said.

"You've got to take something away from the opposition. I would be looking to tag him."

Ah the old double bluff trying to get Port to leave him alone 🤣

Righto, thought I better spell it our for you, being from Sydeny and all that. Played some of my best gold at Royal Sandringham, Royal Sandy just doesn't have the same 'Cote d'Ivoire' about it does it.....

What? The Royal Sandy doesn’t have ivory coat hangers? Disgraceful

Well not suggesting you don't make coin, just saying if you're looking good with your rookies and have no issues on field, what else is there to do?

E.g. I'd love to keep Bruhn and have another look at him but he's almost the trade out by default to get cash for Chandler. If I already had Chandler I'd almost be tempted to burn a trade and keep Bruhn.
