Think I might put Uwland there if he lives and shift Chesser to oblivion/M10
Yeh i know these defence rooks are horrible, but its going to cost a lot to upgrade them to anyone good.... i think stocker might be a decent pickup, but hes still 300k away

really unsure how to structure this... but in hindsight, i should have spent more money on my Defence

It's going to be worse if campaignerstable gets dropped. Then Jelly has to become Daicos/Young for me.

For those thinking of trading Laird

1. Don't assume it will be easy to get him back in once his price drops. It is impossible to predict forced trades week to week, so it is very risk to bank on having a free round where you will be able to get him back in.

2. Whilst other coaches will likely be able to pick up Laird cheaper than what you got him to start, don't underestimate the value of not having to use up a weekly set of trades to get him back in.

Any suggestion on what people are doing for their D6?

Is it ok to start either Cowan, CHessar or Wilmot? or does D6 have to be ginbey or bust?
Somehow stacking my DEF with mid pricers of Hunt and Jones allowed Ginbey at D6 for me. Even once I move Jones out he may remain there.

Gonna give Hunt one more week and see how he goes on Optus Stadium.

Bit torn on what to do with Jelly. Elite role, racking up footy, probably only out 1 week. Downside is guys struggle back from concussion first week back.

Last year held guys like Cripps for a week etc while the bloke that won was just culling them no mercy.
The one benefit with Kelly is that he doesn't play til the Sunday this week.

If Thurs/Friday/Saturday go well I guess we can hold him. If it's shit, which it likely will be, we can punt him to Green.

On 1, I disagree somewhat. Over the byes we get 3 trades, easy to come out the other side of the byes with Laird back in.

On 2 I agree, so long as his scoring rebounds.

Christ, round one and the wheels are already off after a couple of good seasons. Did a lot of fiddling with the team during the rolling lockout, and all fiddles seem to have backfired

  • Stewart instead of Hayden Young
  • Pussied out of Day last minute, went to McGrath
  • When Stewart went down, thought about using the spare cash to turn McGrath into the 'Stewart replacement' so I could then downgrade Stewart to the best mid pricer. Didn't.
  • Josh Kelly :(
  • Had Chandler, went to Uwland last minute
  • Had Green, but decided late to go Macrae for the extra premium
  • Bruhn over JHF

Round one forced trades are the absolute worst, especially when they come to premiums. Tough choice on Stewart and Kelly now - do I go sideways to premiums? Or try to go to mid pricers to help future cash gen? Or do I hedge with Kelly's late game, and hope an EMG scores well enough to hold him.

Thinking the following
Trade 1: Stewart to Will Day OR Hayden Young
Trade 2: Josh Kelly to Tom Green, unless Oliver Hollands goes 70-75+, in which case:
Trade 2b: Fergus Greene to Kade Chandler

Would love to go Lachie Cowan to Chandler, but to do that I'd have to commit to holding Kelly. I guess I could get two bites at his score with the EMG loophole though, potentially Hollands into Davey, Uwland or Chesser

what do we do with marshall - wasnt impressed on the weekend.
I dont have english (nor can i afford him)
could you go darcy or nank ??? or just give marshall 1 more week ?

He wasn't paid 2 marks that were, and dropped another 2 that he normally should have gobbled, thats +24 right there. Plus he won't be rucking against Darcy every week who smacked him hitouts. Add another 10-15 points just in hit outs alone against 15 other teams.

I'm confident he'll be fine

Laird 'only' dropped 50k, was expecting more tbh.

As for trades I'm thinking of a slight re-shuffle
Hunt > Uwland/other cheap rookie
Greene > Chandler

I'll field Chandler (potentially loop depending on ins and outs), move Tom Powell to the midfield which allows me to get Hollands off ground. Only issue is I'll have to field Wilmot/Cowan but feel like they're score similarly to J Hunt.

Way too early trade ideas

Mcgrath -> will day
Bruhn -> setterfield

Xerri to English
Kelly to Green

Wanted to wait a week to see if Green was real and it wasn't just an Adelaide thrashing, but I couldn't afford my other target Brayshaw (although maybe I could afford Bray if i go Witts over English, will need to explore).

Have 130k in the bank to fix up rookies next week assuming i don't have two more forced trades again.

Actual footage of the fantasy gods when they decided I would end up a measly $1,000 short of going Newcombe to Setterfield and Xerri to Darcy…
