How much would we need to give up in points/pick equivalent for them both?
Nowhere near as much as Brisbane paid for Ashcroft & Fletcher. Beyond that, it's really way too early to speculate, but I will...

Say they went at 7 and 35. To match, would require 1315 + 325 points. Could be done with ~ four round 3 picks.

So, at next year's trade period, we could trade our Future 1st (2024) for a 2023 late 1st/early 2nd (depending where we finish), and an extra 2024 3rd. Could then use our 2023 1st and the one we get from trading our 2024 pick to get an earlier 2023 1st and another 2024 3rd.

Currently have:
2023: 1st, 4th
2024: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

End up with:
2023: Top-10, 4th
2024: 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th

Lucas is rated a top-10 chance. Ben more 2nd-3rd round.

Just looked up their stats… Lucas averaged 28 disposals this year - wow!

Anyone know any more info on them? Looks like they were in U16s so I’m assuming they turn 16 or 17 next year?

I had NFI campo had twins until now… How exciting!

For those who may be interested, ol' Bamboo bravely headed along to the training session today despite the crap weather. Not sure where to start, but just a few notes/observations.

- for starters, there was no Doc, Cotters, Kemp, Walsh.....or the mystery man Fog. There's something weird happening there

- there were a group away from the main group doing some skills work to varying degrees - Dow, Zilliams, Marchy, Cunners, Georgey, Philp, Pitto, Honey and Owies - although George and Philp joined in some of the drills with the main group. Apart from Dow and Owies though, the others are coming off long term injuries, so possibly working on limited minutes this time of the year. Cerra just ran laps. Someone reported that Ed went off early with a rolled ankle - which may have been the case (didn't see it) - but was moving well during the session, and of course was at the lead in the running drills. Hopefully it's just minor.

- players did their warm ups indoors in the new facility - and came out just in time to be bucketed on. Didn't last long though, the rest of the session it was pretty dry. The ground looks in beautiful nick though. Overall, it wasn't a greatly intense session - mainly just skills and drills - with some rep 400's thrown in between. Which is what you'd expect this time of year.

- I thought it must have been the Camporeale boys out there - not that I know them from a bar of soap, but saw a couple of skinny kids out there who looked exactly the same, so I figured it must have been them. They joined some of the drills and running reps for the first half the session....and look to be smooth movers just like the old man.

- all of the draftees were out there - although they were on limited minutes - spent most of the last half the session just doing a bit of kick to kick. Hollands is a rake - moves well on the fly, but seemed to tire as the session went on. Binnsy was right up there though with Ed in the reps for most of the session. Lemmey moves nicely for a big fella, but you feel all of them will need time. Cowans seems the most advanced....good size, and was doing a lot of work with Newy (sorry Jim, but he was).

- the stand outs. Hard to tell because there's so much happening and balls flying everywhere, but JSOS looks in great nick, as does our skipper....who spend a fair bit of time working with Carroll in body positioning at stoppages. Durds and Mots are going to be anything as a small forward combo. Motlop's ball handling skills below the knees are off the charts, and Durds is just a little ball of muscle. Both joined in centre bounce drills, so they may get a run through the guts at stages during the year to mix it up. Weiters is a beast. Boyd looking good as well - expect to see a fair bit of him this year. Big Durds also looks ready to take a key position role at any time. Acres looked really good as well - he'll just fit in seamlessly.

- Charles. What more can I say? If he can stay injury free, there won't be a defender that'll be able to stop him next year. Just a freak. Harry was also moving well. We're lucky to have them both.

- Akeui looks like he's getting a little more confidence, but still raw as a prawn. He was paired up with Lemmey at one stage doing one-on-one drills - mainly crumbing drills for the smalls more than marking contests - but big Dom showed his athleticism in getting a fist in every time. Although he's still a long way off, could possibly be used in a lockdown role if we are in a state of disaster with our key/midsize defenders next season. Possibly.

There's probably more, just all I could think of off the top of the head.

Love how much time and patience Vossy has for the fans and members.

Imagine asking Malthouse for a selfie on your phone when he was coaching us, I wouldn't have dared even come within 50 meters of that grumpy old Goose lol
Mick was Lars Thorvald, and the supporter base was the little terrier.
