yep particularly as there are lots of premium priced rookies these days who are hard to correct to if you don't have a few $$ in the kitty
Yeah, I regret not having premium priced rookies on the pine. Almost every high priced rookie has been a hit. Wish I went with a GnR team of value priced premos and high priced rookies.

Not starting with ~$100k in the bank like I originally wanted to. Now that there's a lot of expensive rookies and mid-pricers that might be must-haves next week, I won't be able to get them.

I considered not trading after Round 1. Looking back most years, first round trades are usually a waste. However with teams so similar, for almost very good reason, I am expecting the ability to complete a team with 30 trades including sideways corrections and injuries.

Bringing in Pedlar, Phillipou and Phillips for example, will generate a whole lot more cash in 3 trades, than keeping Greene, Chesser and Cowan will in the long run (as you will most likely need to trade them out for dud monetary gain anyway).

The advice seems to be to wait on rookies till after round 2 to swap them. Only issue is if you have at least 3 that need swapping and potentially need to slight downgrade another on field player to raise the cash (if the rookie trade ins are a little pricier).

Correct. Rookie trades should be next week. Sheezel and co. are obvious trade ins as premium rookies, no need to wait on them. However I would not be trading out any rookies this round unless they are omitted.

You have also captured the need to trade this week if required. There is quite a few common rookies in the chopping block, so funds will be required to upgrade them to the more expensive rookies. No point trading Chesser to Chandler if hes omitted after round 3. Phillipou and Pedlar do not look likely to be dropped any time soon.

Stewart last week Gawn this week this games ****ed mate, with Kelly and Pickett sitting on the pine Brilliant Bruhn racking them up and Gulden possibly missing can see another huge score coming of about 1500. There is one upside to all this I did not have the C on Gawn like I did with Stewart the week before, gota' look on the brightside I guess. 🤣🤣🤣

Came here to vent, but I am a broken man this morning.
No longer angry, just disappointed…….
Regrets?
Following Fremantle for the last thirty years for nothing but constant pain and sorrow.
Having faith in the umpires….
Having faith in Fyfe, Young and Darcy to improve my SC team.
F$&k the footy!
When does the cricket start?

I sort of get the fyfe thing, I seen him in so many teams here and was thinking how much people will regret it, luckily he's a good price as to being able to downgrade him to a good rookie.

The Darcy and Young one is just a shit week tbh. People probably started Darcy because they were scared by English and his injury history.

Fyfe.
Bringing in Hayden Young this week.

Anything to do with Fremantle really

The 'safe' premiums I chose just completely underwhelming.

Doch, Macrae and Neale all potentially on the chopping block.

I’ve been saying it for years. SC should make it in limited trades each round (no E) + 10M starting Kitty and + price rises from round 1

Best traders will still rise to the top as only way to build your salary cap to buy more expensive players is to trade out/in like stocks

But won’t shaft coaches and thousands of hours of research in the event of freak injuries or performances

And will also keep engagement high through the whole season. Coach numbers have been steadily declining for many years now

42 of the last 44 games before this year (I.e 1 a year). It’s overstated recently. Wasn’t a bad pick with the midfield opening up by any means.
Starting Jelly after knowing full well how bad his previous injury list is, traded him to Touk Touk, not all bad news, i guess. Also we've got that many trades, we can spare a few.

Picking Gawn would have been a disaster with the price drop, even though he was looking like a good pick. How does that not shaft coaches?

On that pick yes it sucks. But the broader impact on your season is much less as you have unlimited scope to trade your way back from disasters

Also since gawn started on 🔥 in Rd1 you would have banked an immediate cash rise

Arguably with unlimited trades you may not have also picked gawn in rd2 - e.g., Witts vs spud Draper or Flynn vs nitnat-less eagles would maybe have been more enticing
