Glenorchy Magpies are going to have a pretty heavy overhaul this off-season after I said I'd give the side one more year. Ideally want to target the draft this season and rebuild through that way. Willing to listen to offers on most players in order to have a Richmond-like first round group ideally. Got some players that are suitable for both contenders and other sides and a fair few out of contract that will be tasty for trade bait.

Happy to put my first rounder on the table next season (likely to be top five) in order to get another high pick this year. Also happy to package up my two second rounders next year (Glenorchy and Ballarat) to move up the order either next year or this year.

I didn't want to clog up the off-season thread but I hope the below helps a bit.

Active Bid

McStay $550k (3)

This bid is fine, but just letting you know that the bidding is already activated on McStay and doesn't need to be activated again.

Essentially an active bid is the first opposition player bid on a player and will remain against that team until that players is won through bidding, or traded. All bids from that first active bid onwards on have the 72 hour timeframe attached to them. There is no such thing as an inactive bid on an opposition player other than the short period between opposition player bidding opening and trading starting. A player may 'activate' the bidding on one of their own players if they wish and if they have an active bid slot available to them.

A team only has two active bid slots available to them. Once reached you have to wait until one of the players used for an active bid slot is won through bidding, or traded. Bidding on a player that has already been 'activated' does not require an active bid slot.

So for example, your two active bid slots are currently used on McStay and Burgoyne and you'll have to wait for them to expire before you can place the first opposition bid on any unactivated player. You can bid on any player alreacy activated though, including McStay and Burgoyne.

The only other thing to remember is that each team only gets a total of three bids on any player that isn't their own.

Active bids are always confusing, but essentially view the active bids as the initial bid required to 'activate' the bidding on a player (i.e. reducing the time limit from 21 days to 72 hours.)
