We've only got the one match, most teams have 2
Interesting
Only a couple of VIC teams have “match sim” scheduled as yet. They will be being negotiated currently. The interstate teams are all listed with their obvious intra state opponents.

Touch wood, we have unprecedented availability of players for our pre season and a good group of VFL signings to fill an internal practice match should a suitable opponent not be sourced.

Match simulation

Carlton v Geelong
Thursday 22 February, 11am
Broadcast live on Kayo
Free entry for fans

CARLTON’S preparations for season 2024 have been locked in.
The Blues will host two practice matches at IKON Park in February, with both games to be shown live.

Kicking off proceedings will be match simulation against Geelong on Thursday 22 February, beginning at 11am. It will be free entry for fans to attend, and the game will be broadcast on Kayo.

I reckon we treat our preseason games a bit differently this year given the short turn around for round 0 (then a 6 day break before round 1).

Expect the Geelong game to be a full dress rehearsal. Best 22 playing close to normal game time with a couple of others rotating through.

The Melbourne game I expect some players to be rested, others on managed minutes and fringe players getting more game time.

They are even contacting non ticketed members encouraging us to upgrade so that we can get a ticket to the practice match.
plus ticketmaster's "handling fee"...............

They're not seriously treating this game like a regular ticketed game? What a joke.
What's the capacity of Ikon for this game?

I think people would be happy to hand over a fiver to guarantee entry than make the effort to go to the ground only to be locked out.

Given the amount of people going to training, it's a fair assumption that there will be very good turn out.

C'mon old man get with the program!!!!!!

about ~12k now since the admin building and training facility demolished the best stand with the second most seating.
