We’re a bunch of unique individuals – Tigerbob, Morro, RATD, Tigs2010 and myself. We’re gonna engage with our minds and our hearts. We’re gonna exchange ideas, thoughts and even our energy. And to speak from your heart you need to have courage. You need to be honest and authentic. We’re not always gonna get it right. And sometimes, you’re not going to agree with us. But that’s okay, because just like you we care.

My Final Mock Draft

Richmond Picks
1. Jagga Smith - unlikely to happen given all the media reports that Lalor is the likely number 1, but has been my number 1 player all season and IMO is the most likely to have the biggest impact from day 1. Gives our midfield a point of difference we're lacking with his ability to get first hands on the ball and get through traffic and set up attacking chains.

6. Bo Allan - based on the whispers going around today this could very well happen on Wednesday night, which will be popcorn worthy to watch the melts. Starts across HB but will quickly graduate to the midfield.

13. Jack Whitlock - a surprise no doubt, but whispers are we really like the Whitlocks and take Jack here to address a glaring need for a future number 1 KPF.

14. Xavier Lindsay - Lindsay gives us something we're lacking with our outside midfielders with his elite use by foot, while also being more than capable of winning his own footy at the contest.

22. Alex Dodson - after bidding on Marshall at 21, we take the best genuine ruck in the draft and strengthen an area of weakness on the list. Dodson could very easily surpass Ryan as the next number 1 ruckman by time Nankervis is ready to hand over the reins.

24. Trade with Essendon for F1 & pick 40*

27. Cooper Hynes - we add a big bodied general forward who could become a midfielder in time. Hynes was 2nd fiddle to Langford in the Stingrays midfield unit who showed he knows how to hit the scoreboard as well kicking 22 goals for the season in the CTL

28. Jonty Faull - we could just as easily trade out this pick for a future 1st, but with Faull on the board still I'd like to see us take another KPF to partner Whitlock long term. IMO Faull would compliment Whitlock as the mobile lead up forward, while Whitlock played as the deeper option.

40. Jack Ough - a late season bolter of sorts who showed that he could step up and become a handy midfield option, Ough would round out a strong draft haul that gives the list a strong injection of talent across the board and would allow Yze to really start focusing on settling players in positions rather than the chopping and changing we saw in 2024.

“The Tigers have travelled to see West Australian Bo Allan in recent days and they could look to grab him here in case they don't see him getting through to their picks at 10 and 11. That is seen as a real option, as is Tobie Travaglia at this pick, which hasn't been mentioned much but is one to watch.”

Oh god

Cal has us taking: Lalor, Smillie, Lindsay, Shanahan, Dattoli, Matt Whitlock, Alger, Trainor

That's not far off I reckon. Sub Jack Whitlock in for Shanahan, and pick up Alger later in the draft after we slide a pick back for a F1.

How many pure mids do you think we need?

I'd like us to take a Hotton and Hannaford type in this draft, 2KP's and rebounding defender with a great leg.

We'll likely get an A grade mid first pick next year.

Already have Taranto and Hopper on the list next 6 years. I know teams run 7-8 players through there but typically maybe 5 guys take up 80-90% of the mid time.
It's a mid strong draft, the best 10 players are mids. We can get multiple talls nexr year.
