Heard Dylan Alexander say in a video today that he's heard rumours some recruiters question Harry Armstrong's character.

If Twomey has heard the same, then perhaps that's the reason why he now has Shanahan as the first taken tall forward.

It was only recently that most thought Armstrong had the edge over the other forwards and could go top 10.

If true, I'd avoid Armstrong, because we're basically rebuilding our list and culture from scratch, so character has to play a big factor
Yeah I watched the same POD, there’s something about him I just don’t like.

Lots of talk from Arden St today about trading up - Pick 2 and future first and second picks for Pick 1.
We are locked on our man. Apparently Richmond open to the trade.
Hearing anything?

Well guys my last post on here before the trade.

Big thank you for your tolerance and banter unlike some other club boards.

Good luck with your draft haul.

Still hoping for both teams sake that 6 and 18 gets done but very unlikely.

I'll leave you with my top 7 if anyone GAF.

Tigs. Lalor.
Bris. Ashcroft.
North.FOS.
BLUES. Draper.
Crows. Smith.
Dees. Smille
Tigs. Langford

I can honestly say i know absolutely nothing about the kids in this draft, who we are targeting etc. Going in blind as you can get - as long as we end up with the best player in the entire draft & a group of players with variety of different positions and body types, its all i can hope for. They need to get the picks right most importantly, & from there time will tell.

One position i would maybe not focus on is a Key position defender, unless a Alex Rance is sitting their of course. I would go into next season hoping to build a "Death squad" defensive 6 around Balta, Browne, Young, Gibcus, Vlaustin, Broad, Short. Our small defenders are near non-existent all of a sudden tho & so is our run, especially is Short continues to be putrid.
This is why a guy like Markov would have been handy. We might have to switch Mansell back there for certain teams, which might not be a good idea since he has looked consistently good as a small forward. I think a very good long-term defence can be made out of some combination of that group + 1 or 2 other players coming in later. A Houli type and ironically, a 2020 version of Liam Baker or even a peak backline Syd Stack that can play good pressure defence on their small forward and still rebound, create.

The dream is a elite & generational group is formed from this draft that propels blokes like Dow, Sonsie, Clark, Ross, MRJ to reach levels that currently seems beyond them. It's a big ask, but we need a young group that can inspire the group above them to new heights, otherwise this rebuild is going to be a very long one.

But most importantly, we just need to get enough of the picks right. If the club takes all 8 this year, a pass would be getting the best player in the draft + 5 other players that are considered different levels of having successful careers. That number can drop 1 or 2 if their is more top end talent wins of course. But the bottom line is we just need to get it right this year - its been too many years now where we can without doubt say that the club got a pre-season "right". They have flirted with the mediocre in recruiting over the last decade & they just need to make sure they get it right from this year otherwise the club will become, unsurprisingly, mediocre too. I'm hoping like hell though those names that get read out are memorable for all the right reasons.
