How excited would these kids in the draft crop feel today
Everything they have worked towards over the past 5 or so years all starts to come together today

There is also a strategic reason to take two big powerful mids this year
The reason is that they are rare, very rare
It means that in future drafts getting smaller faster players to compliment them will be easier, that's because 180 cm quick midfielders are much more common than lalor and Smillie types, and will make us better as a whole .
This whole thing is a part of the complete list build, it is not the end, but with one draft with a little luck we will be maybe 70% there.
Smillie and lalor are the meat and potatoes. Gravy, veggies, salad and other condiments will be added in due course, with later draft picks, rookie picks, and trades

Fox Footy have us potentially going mids or mid/fwd with our first 4 picks. I think this is the right move. The value in the talls is at 18+
