Big Footy logic:
  • Richmond's F1 is worth more than 2 top 10 picks (e.g. 7+8 from Saints or 5+9 from Melbourne)
  • Norths F1 is worth no more than a mid-late 1st rounder (e.g. our pick 18)
  • Richmond late 1st round picks are all worth good F1s (e.g. Essendon, St Kilda etc)
I get what you are saying, but this draft has known depth with Norf, Shats and Bummers desperate to get back in. We hold the keys to let them in the door but they surely have to pay a premium. As I said, I think those clubs are desperate to buy in to this draft having sold all of their capital. Norf still have pick 2 but their next is a disastrous 62!! Other clubs may let those clubs in too (GWS a big chance imo), but they will pay a big price regardless of who they end up buying from, imo.

With regards our future 1st, there’s no circumstances that Blair will trade it imo. He is all about a solid rebuild and for that reason, I don’t think you’ll see us trade future 1sts or 2nds for a few years unless the offer is extraordinary.

23. TRADE: West Coast - Matt Whitlock

Murray Bushrangers/Vic Country
DEF/FWD, 199cm

Trade: Richmond trades pick 23 and a future third round pick for West Coast's future first round pick tied to Hawthorn and their future second round pick

28. TRADE: Geelong - Luke Trainor
Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro
DEF, 194cm

Trade: Richmond trades pick 24 for Geelong's future first-round pick

No chance of these trades happening.
Just reading this pile of shit.
We trade away two picks and get Hawthorn's 2025 1st, Geelong's 2025 1st (both could easily finish top 4) and a 2025 2nd from West Coast.
All the while St Kilda make out like bandits and give picks 10 and 47 to GWS for picks 17, 18, and 21.

What time does the draft even start? And do we have 30 minutes of Dillon waffling before the first pick?
welcome to country, waffle, allowing time for camera crews to try and catch up with persons of interest, cutting back and forth between fox studio and the roaming presenter, more waffle, I reckon draft kicks off around 8:30 tbh.

here's a piece from an article on lalor yesterday:

dude was extremely underdone and still produced what he produced. if the club picks him, gotta back them to get his body right and the sky is the limit. reading that though it's looking like there's a chance the hammy was because he was well underdone, iirc he even tried to keep playing once he had done it
And those uninformed supporters who will be screaming to play him early, ya gunna have to wait…

Listening to Mick Ablett … really has no idea. A heap of things he spoke about showed a real lack of insight …was even critical of the Bummers trading out of the draft - seemingly oblivious to the fact a team ahead of them would 100% take Kako before 9 just to flush the pick.

And he spoke like they gave it away for nothing…..

Live chat on FoxSports.com.au at the moment with Ben Waterworth. Some tidbits:
  • Says that Melbourne will take Lindsay or Allan with their pick before us, and that we'll take whoever is left.
  • Says that we'll use our first four picks on mids and use 18 on whichever key forward slides
  • Reckons Reid is a gun, but AFL clubs have question marks on him making it as a midfielder, hence why he is sliding.

That would also potentially leave Draper or Langford on the board if the dees do that. That would tie in well with us using our first four picks on mids.

Still need a gun kpf though. 18 might start to get thin for best kpf talent

I lost faith in mick Ablett when he said with a a straight face on camera that we had a draft steal when we took naish

The guy has NFI

If we’re waiting till 18 for the key forward then perhaps the early talk of interest in Faull were correct

He’d be the only key forward that you’d safely think is a good chance to be there at 18
Gerryn from WA also almost certain to be there too.

Based on the clubs recent video we highly rate our WA recruiter, maybe he has him on the list too?

Hold on to your hats because there is going to be a lot of pick swapping and offers. This will be the slowest draft ever.
It is just the draft but 100% the main board will complain that the coverage was "too Richmond focused" and how it is another example of Vic Bias.

By pick 23, Sarah Jones will ask a question of the panel beginning with "I feel we have spoken about Richmond a lot tonight..."

I am not a fan of giving #4 on bloody draft night

dusty can present the guernsey but dont give him the number tonight. keep 4 out of the team for at least 1-2 years more

giving it tonight will put too much pressure on him
