Had that issue in 2004 , had a national sales conference presenting .

Nightmare , truth is should not have bothered they where mostly duds

Draft this year starts at 7.30 they reckon

All wrapped up by 9 pm

Tape it and watch it on delay like it’s live if you can is my advice .

Or get them to move the event lol

Shaping up as the most exciting night of the year 👍
Thx for that. Tape & watch would be excruciating & expect my phone to be burning up. Dunno if I can do it.

Gonna be spending more time in the dunnies than a coke addict.
Maybe I should just get diarrhoea. Nobody ever questions that.

If we want a Brownlow medalist, we will pick Jagga Smith.
If we want Premierships Lalor or FOS is probably the right call out of those 3, I am not going to complain whoever we pick though.
foss is a role player that cant find the footy

Quite a deep pool when you consider that Ashcroft Marshall Kako & Lombard are missing. We're definitely going to give our rebuild a great kick start with our draft hand.

I am now all in with Lalor as our number 1 selection since I have seen the predictions of what he will be like with a couple of pre-seasons under his belt, he is going to be a beast

Getting Jagga at selection 6

You're missing the main point. This draft is far superior than what's expected next year.

Clubs are trading their F1 and F2 for picks in the teens this year.

That hypothetical is doing the opposite and adding twice as much to it- one F1 for 2x teens picks.

Trading out 11,18 should net us 2x F1 and 2x F2- not 1x F1 in total
No you’re missing my only point.. Im
Not agreeing with the trade?!?!

Just saying it’s not as silly as stuff magic comes up with

Because I’m a sucker for punishment, here’s my first round mock.

Pick 1 - Richmond - Sam Lalor - why? Seems as if the jungle drums are all beating in this direction.

Pick 2 - Brisbane - Levi Ashcroft (matched bid)

Pick 3 - North Melbourne - Finn O'Sullivan - why? If kept or if traded suspect FOS will be the selection.

Pick 4 - Carlton - Sid Draper - why? If not FOS then Draper

Pick 5 - Adelaide - Jagga Smith - why? If not Draper than Smith

Pick 6 - Melbourne - Harvey Langford - why? Best midfielder available.

Pick 7 - Richmond - Josh Smilie - best midfielder available and long been linked

Pick 8 - Essendon - Isaac Kako (matched bid)

Pick 9 - Suns - Leo Lombard (matched bid)

Pick 10 - Saints - Murphy Reid - why? Best midfielder available.

Pick 11 - Saints - Alixzander Tauru - why? Josh Battle replacement + add to KPD stocks.

Pick 12 - Melbourne - Harry Armstrong - why? Need to add a genuine KPF

Pick 13 - Richmond - Tobie Travaglia - why? Leader and possible Rioli HBF replacement.

Pick 14 - Richmond - Xavier Lindsay - why? Best outside mid available.

Pick 15 - West Coast - Bo Allan - why? - not because of a local, but best available.

Pick 16 - Port - Joe Berry - why? Would prefer more of a runner, but Berry a solid option here.

Pick 17 - Fremantle - Ollie Hannaford - why? Not really in need for much, but possibly a stay at home small forward.

Pick 18 - Giants - Taj Hotton - why? GWS tend to draft high athlete types. Despite ACL injury Hotton and athlete.

Pick 19 - North Melbourne - Luke Trainor - in a trade focusing on NM F1, north get a CHB they’ve got connections to.

Pick 20 - Brisbane - Sam Marshall (matched bid).

Pick 21 - Western Bulldogs - Jesse Dattoli - why? WB are pretty well covered, Dattoli a high IQ small forward

Pick 22 - Essendon - Jobe Shanahan - in a trade focusing on an Essendon F1, Dons trade back into the first round to take a KPF.

Pick 23 - Sydney - Cooper Hynes - Not a lot of need for Sydney that can be fixed with a late first round pick. I like the inside/ forward mix of Hynes.

Pick 24 - Richmond - Jonty Faull - why? Long linked and haven’t yet taken a KPF

Pick 25 - Giants - Alex Dodson - why? Probably the thinnest position on its list, provides a long term development option.

Pick 26 - Sydney - Tom Gross - why? Can see this pick being moved, but Gross is best available.

Pick 27 - Richmond - Jack Whitlock - why? Project forward that can also play back KPD.

Going through this exercise, I think I’d prefer to trade 6 and 18 (at the latest) to get pick 2. I’d rather have FOS than Smillie + whomever at 18; as I think that Lalor-FOS-Draper-Smith are all in a tier above Smillie-Reid etc.

Have at it. It was a lot of work just to try to get in a RATD multi-quote post.

If we are trading for pick 2, I'd rather Lalor & Smith. Not convinced on FOS at such a high pick.

I like it but think we have to take one of the quick forwards (Hotton, Berry, Hannaford) at 10 or 11. Would have hoped for 1 at 18 but I definitely fear it pans out this way and they all go between our 11 & 18.

North only have picks 2 & 68, where did 19 come from ?

6&18 would be if we're super keen at #2. I actually think given what Blair has said about the evenness of the draft pick 6&20 would be the offer.

Few reasons for this:
  1. If North do that trade, it's to take 2 talls and means we're going mids first 4 picks. We would want to ensure we can use pick 18 on a tall before north.
  2. It's a great sell back to the supporter base. We use 6 and essentially all our shuffling back in last years draft (which accumulated the late picks which went to Brisbane for 20) to get pick 2 in the draft.
  3. Pick 20 is still paying a premium first round pick for a 4 spot upgrade. It's a large price to pay given there's an even ranking of the first 4-5 players.
  4. North could realistically get Tauru at 6 and Trainor at 20- only 2 months ago there was talk of taking Trainor at 2 so this would be a huge coup for North. If trainor goes mid teens then there's still 3-4 good tall forwards available at 20 (with Whitlocks, Faull,Gerryn, simms all rated in the 20s.
Does 6&20 get it done?
I hope u are right,I'm a bit worried about the social club poster who turned out 100% accurate, he's said, it's 10,11 for pick 2,or would we prefer pick 6,20.
If it's pick 10,11.
Then we could expect
1 Lalor
2 Fos
3 Armstrong or Langford or Smillie

Hotton, Hannaford, Berry would be my order. Would love any of them though.

I think I agree with your order

But it’s close between hannaford and Hotton

Would actually love both at 10 + 11.

Hannaford really did a number on Reid in the grand final , was just too quick and powerful for him , looks an a grade small forward to me that can run through the midfield reminds me of Papley

Pick 12 - Melbourne - Harry Armstrong - why? Need to add a genuine KPF

Dees won’t take a key forward. They’ve taken 2 in the first round of last 3 drafts.

Oliver is a mess, Petracca coming of an injury to an internal organ and Viney is 31. Rivers is their only young mid who’ll play inside consistently. It’ll be Langford/Jagga at 5 depending on crows and Reid at 9 or Lindsay/Travaglia if Reid’s gone hoping they transition into centre bounce mids.

I wouldn't believe a word that comes out of Blair's mouth even if he was hooked to a lie detector.

"It's even" is the draft version of "he's contracted" in Blair's game of Bend over fellow List Manager.

Spot on. Travaglia or Lindsay frees up Rivers too for the time being.

One at 11 and one at 18 would be ideal. Transforms our forward half when put with Maurice and probably puts some pressure on Maurice to keep in shape.
